Idk if this will help anyone else but with my ADHD I’ve implemented a “one touch” rule where when I’m cleaning I’m only allowed to touch any item one time, so that I immediately put it exactly where it needs to go the first time so I don’t end up just moving it from one wrong place to the other :)

me, with an insanely messy room, paying full attention to a cleaning video i put on to inspire me to clean my room

On that topic of “only making sense to you” I have ‘autistified’ my house. I have little buckets for socks in every room of my house because I’m always looking for socks, I separate my clothes by tops and bottoms to do laundry, I sort my fridge by breakfast lunch and dinner on shelves, etc. it’s my home and I do what makes me comfortable!

Girll you need to let some of those totes and bags go😂 they’re holding you hostage

Marie Kondo taught me to tell an object "thank you for your service" and then to get rid of/donate it. I didn't realize how sentimental I was till I heard her say that. Some things carry a lot of emotional weight with them--even if its just a faded movie stub or a pebble from a lake you visited with freinds. I realized that the object does not hold the memory that I want to cling to, but that I do! And that the way I was changed by those small memorable moments is a way I can remember those times as well. A thing only represents a moment, it is not the moment in itself.

The “doing stuff that makes sense to you” hit so crazy hard because I constantly feel judged about my choices because my brain works in funny ways and I’m constantly trying to explain and justify my choices to others and it stops me from making decisions!! I’m gonna adopt this thinking!!

From one chaotic adhd woman to another, I was always on the struggle bus with organizing, buying doubles, losing things in plain sight and constantly declutterring until I curbed my spending. It’s very hard to out organize a constant influx of things. Also, Libby. I stopped burying myself in unread books.

Okay queen, I'm a type A person who loves to hang clothes, clean, and declutter. Please bring me to your house next time 😌

Girl! Decluttering means getting rid of things not storing them away aha.

This room clean is my favorite! C dramas, translated Japan books, sunglasses on, and it became a show and tell.

Set a timer on your phone for 15 min and focus on one area at a time. You will be amazed how much you can get done if you do this and you won't feel overwhelmed and all over the place.

If I had that many books …just get another bookshelf 😂😂😂

We don’t have the same Interests HOWEVER I do LOVE that you talked through the entire video. I use decluttering videos as a “body doubling” method to help me clean and so I LOVED being able to listen to you talk through things!!! ❤
