I use to do this when I first became natural. I was co-washing daily. My hair grew to my waist. The only reason I stopped was because I became lazy 😂. This method does work for some naturals.

I tell every natural that this is what i did/do for my hair to get so long. They either don’t believe me or feel it’s too much. They don’t realize that doing it daily or every other day keeps it from being “too much” lol

Yall please make sure you don’t have hard water, several cities in the U.S. have very hard water. I’m someone that washes my hair alottt and washes daily on summer days, and when I was in a city with hard water my hair was breaking, dry and an itchy scalp. I got a softener and I wash my hair daily or 2-3 a week and everything is long and soft now. Hard water is super drying and damaging!

I’m a newly once a week washer (anywhere from every 5 days to 14 days)….coming from someone who was regularly pushing for 2-4 weeks. It helped my hair / scalp grow and heal so much. We gotta change the stigma on washing our hair more frequently and do what works for us.

The common denominator between doing this and the oiling is the consistent head massage. Stimulates growth.

Wow! I have hands in hair syndrome and i crave manipulating my hair. This daily method here will be a great way for me to connect with my hair in a gentle hydrating way daily. Praise God for answering my prayer for a solution to playing in my hair. I want rapid growth.

I have psoriasis on my scalp so when I first went natural I would wash my hair every 3 days. My hair grew so much but then I kept listening to naturals that didnt have high porosity hair and minimal scalp issues who would wash their hair like once a month. Everyone swore their hair grew when its dirty. Even my mom used to say that to me.  My hair suffered and my psoriasis traveled to my face lol. This is the confirmation I need that I was on the right path washing my hair at least 2-3x a week. Thank you for this video!

I'm glad people talk about this! It's a known fact that the scalp, face and back are the oiliest part of the human body. Most people wash their face once or twice a day and their skin is doing great. So why are people so afraid of washing their hair too often. Most people's scalp will do just fine being washed daily. If you make sure to use a gentle shampoo and protect your ends with oil, washing your hair everyday is actually really good for hair growth and a healthy scalp.

I'm def a frequent shampooer/daily shower drencher and have been over 20yrs. Its the best way to manage my hair and keep it at the peak of health. My hair is so moisturized from the daily hydration, I literally just use a leave in to style, w a light oil on top during winter (I'm in Chicago). It has somehow permanently defined my hair, so I don't need stylers. I keep it short these days, but I've been doing this since my hair reached my brastrap unstretched.

I believe many of the issues naturals face simply come from not hydrating the hair enough. I've never had  problems w detangling, slow growth, knots, breakage, dryness etc. I think that's mainly bc I drench my hair everyday, use conditioner to style instead of heavy products that suffocate the hair & scalp, and am no stranger to an every other day shampoo. Hair can't thrive in a dirty environment so if it's kept clean, it will flourish.

I did this like a few years back and now I wash like every 2 to 3 days. I discovered that natural hair care products were the culprit to my excessive shedding and breakage. I switched over to non black hair care because their hair care focused more on hair concerns and not just moisture. My hair grew. The moment I went back to the natural products my hair broke off and I had to cut it again. I think the heavy butters and oils were the cause. I enjoy washing my hair more regularly too. ❤

I washed daily or every other day until my hair got to my hip. Now I’m getting lazy because it takes forever to dry. So I wash every 2/3days now. And I do dread washing it, but it looks so nice when it’s done. It’s just long I don’t style it really. But I do blow dry it on low heat. the longer It gets the more heavy it gets and it does straighten out more from the weight. I only cut it once a year. And I only cut an inch. And I do everything myself no one touches it. I started growing my hair about two years before the pandemic. Once I stopped going to salons, my hair quality increased dramatically, and I will never ever go to a salon again. I went to nice salons by the way very expensive. That’s my little advice no one asked for. Oh yeah, last piece of advice I don’t think it’s good to let your hair grow past your hips because you will sit on it or it’ll get stuck on things so I’m not letting my hair grow longer. I’m gonna keep it there. I promise anyone can grow hair just wash it and leave it alone. And stop going to salons.

I used to wash my hair (4c) daily and it was the best thing I ever did. My hair grew faster while retaining length, very little to no breakage. A few years ago my life got busier so I started washing once a week and detangling whenever i could. My hair is a mess now. I'm cutting 4 inches today to start again.
