I’m washing my hair every 3rd day. I wear my hair out everyday. No braids or extensions. I’ll likely increase during the summer months. No Breakage. No more single strand knots. Easier detangling. Less shedding. This method is a miracle for my fine 4c coils.

My mom is Ghanaian, and she literally just said she is also so confused where washing your hair less frequently came from! She said growing up and in her 20s she washed her hair twice a day, during every shower, and her hair was thriving!!

My hair grew like wildfire when I washed it daily. The only reason I stopped is because it was taking too long to dry once it got to a certain length.

As a hairstylist, I'm so glad you posted an update! I've definitely been a BIG, BIG advocate of washing regularly. At least once a week. Now I never tell anyone to wash everyday bc most people already think washing more often is strenuous and the Second reason is that I'd be nervous they won't dry their scalp fully. It's not good to go to bed with a wet scalp. I try my best to meet people where they are and what they have the compacity for. Other than that, health all the way! When I wash and go, I wash and reset every 3-4 days. Because 7 days has too many knots if I don't wrap it properly. Now I've been doing straight hair or stretched hair styles for the last 2 years, however now that I'm going back to wash and gos, I'll mostly be back on the 3-4 day wash days. It's so fast and the shit is so cute. Good luck everyone. Take care of yourselves 😁💛💛💛

Yesss. I've been washing my hair every 2-3 days for the past 3 years. Going longer than that gives it knots and that's how i end up with breakage. We were misinformed

When I went natural, which was almost 20 years ago (before the movement), I washed my hair so much within the first 6 months. My hair grew like weeds! I have no clue how I knew to start washing it frequently, because there was hardly any natural hair YouTubers at that point. I guess I just intuitively knew. I’m going back to that because that worked for me.

Yes! Washing more frequently is the BEST thing I’ve ever done for my hair. I’m 29 and I’ve been natural since 9th grade. I almost exclusively do wash and gos and I’ll NEVER GO BACK! I wash it about every 3 to4 days!
