James unveils the first wave of bands for his “absolutely not a metal festival” with headliners Blood Incantation and Neurosis playing alongside Møl, Holy Fawn, Conjurer, Slift, Messa, Employed To Serve and The Ocean…
But before the boys get to the ATG ‘27 deathfest, they both have site visits to discuss, more new bands to fall in love with and yes, of course, tennis on the agenda.

Good to see Kulk being spoken about. Another awesome band! I'd like to see Ahreman & Opensight given an opportunity to play at that the ATG level. Watch for Renn Convex who have started doing some very cool sludgy stuff down in Bournemouth. just saw them at Abyssal fest in Southampton where someone gave me Covid. bastards!
Sonic Voyager dropped a really cool Cynic-esque album at the start of the year and Cryptic Shift would be great to get some more more sci-fi death metal. Warning just dropped their first album in about 20 years and it's really good and I'd love to see Oranssi Pazuzu again.
Can't help saying as an old twat, I can't be doing all four days of a festival, so seeing MOL, Psychonaut and Zatokrev are all Wednesday is a pisser but I do get it.
Can't wait to see the ocean and neurosis, especially as I'd already called it that they'd be on the line up! Campervan ticket just bought too so I don't have to arse about with a tent.
That'll keep the missus happy 😁
