The real villains here are the parents neglect and the actions they take that reflects on their children. It screwed up and a real world problem. Parents don't understand that their children need them but when they turn their back when their children anything can go wrong.

So, let me get this straight, the real villain of the story are the parents.

I wondered whose fault is that, then i realized its because of the parents influences.

Honestly... shizuka's reaction to Marina's death is... accurate. I have been severely bullied in the past, (recovered), but how it desensibilises people is isane. Every day I was wishing the demise of the two girls that bullied me, and I was the same age as Shizuka... so seeing her happy that her bully is dead hits  close to home. I watched this series with a friend that was and another that wasnt bullied- their reactions were very different. I beleive that this anime deserves way more recognition, as it not only represents bullying, but bullying at the tender age of 8-9, and not highschool bullying. And also, RecapToon, you made a very good recap. Thank you.

I heard people where saying the black haired girl is evil
When i watched i just see the real evil people are the parents

The parents are neglectful or abusive

Takopi’s Original Sin? Nah, this is “I Need An Adult” the Anime

Basically a dumb innocent alien who is delulu asf having the EQ of a 5 yr old tries to save people wow damn

I guess child protective services don't exist in this universe.

A common trope in gloomy anime is the self-erasure that somehow fixes every. I can’t help but think this is some sort of seppuku metaphor, subconscious or otherwise.

Shizuka clung to blind optimism just like Takopi, but in relation to Chappy. It’s fitting that when Takopi was realistic and said things sucked and he couldn’t fix it that Shizuka broke down in a good way. The death of blind optimism was also the death of Takopi, but it’s what Shizuka needed to have a chance at real happiness.

I only want to watch this recap so I don’t have to watch the actual show and cry multiple times.

A large number of anime have the same themes, absent parents, apathetic adults and children left to raise themselves. I'd call it a  obsession with suffering but there's just SO much of it it makes me wonder if that generation of writers really lived that way.

This whole story hits harder than every emotional death scene, combined.

This is such a good recap. Only thing im sad about is that this was reposted on TikTok getting more views

What’s even more sad is that shes only in fourth grade.. I feel so bad for her

Doraemon but everything is too overwhelming

Why must innocence always sacrifice itself

24:57 acting like they don’t have a magical shape shifting octopus that can take the fall as someone else and then escape-
