Bering built its reputation on serious steel explorer yachts. The new BC60 takes that expedition philosophy in a very different direction: an all-aluminum, 62-foot expedition catamaran.
After years of development, Bering’s first BC60 is now complete. At the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival, YachtLens stepped aboard Hull No. 1 with Mustafa Cin for an in-depth look at how Bering translated its expedition-yacht philosophy into an aluminum catamaran.
This is much more than a tour of another big-volume catamaran. Mustafa takes us through the thinking behind the BC60, from its expansive living spaces and unusually extensive storage to its flexible accommodations, enclosed flybridge, machinery access, and owner-oriented engineering.
One theme keeps appearing throughout the boat: Bering has tried to make nearly every available space useful.
The deeper we go into the BC60, the more interesting the engineering becomes.
BERING BC60 HIGHLIGHTS
62 ft / 18.9 m overall length
28 ft 2 in / 8.6 m beam
All-aluminum construction
Full-displacement expedition-catamaran design
Flexible 4–6 cabin arrangements
Open or optional enclosed flybridge configurations
Extensive storage and technical-access areas
Hull No. 1 shown at Cannes 2026
Bering currently publishes a range of 3,000+ nautical miles at 7 knots for the BC60 model. Hull No. 1 has its own equipment and operating configuration, so performance figures discussed during the walkthrough should be understood in that context.
