This is probably the best heat mod that a guy can do. It completely removes the muffler from the under hood area. Yes the pipe it still in there but theres only so much you can do. Unless.... you could make a separate power plant and run hoses and not even have the engine in the machine.. but that wont happen. So this will have to work for now.

Relocating gas tank to behind the seat, exhaust straight out the back with exhaust wrap, and intake up by the roof has helped mine. Amazed by how much cooler it runs now.

I just picked up an AGT H15R. Haven't had it a week. Found the guard around the motor and gear for spinning is smashed all to hell. The plate for the tensioner bolt for the track was only spot welded on and broke off bending the tensioner bolt. The guy I got it from sold me a hydraulic thumb and hoses but the hoses were M14 and the fittings on the excavator were M16. Just finding one joy after another. The guy sales these by the truck load from his yard. Told me if I wanted a warranty I should have bought it from the AGT website.

I bought a high temp 8” silicone hose that slides over existing pipe to get exhaust out $8 on Amazon, when I need to put gas in I just pull it off. Reduced heat a lot so far been staying on and working great

If you buy one of these look for the ones with the 2 stage pump. it makes a big difference. You can tell by the pump has 3 hoses instead of 2.

One header wrap should be soaked in water before install to make it tighter. Second header wrap is good except it holds the heat in and can destroy whatever you wrap. The stainless braiding actually holds heat in since stainless does not transfer heat well.

My little mini excavator has a cab on it, so yeah, it gets hot in there, sitting right on top of the engine. And it's noisy. I always wear hearing protection while using it.

Can you do a video on how to install the quick connect for the attachments? I have a H15R and all the accessories. Awesome video BTW!

The problem with having the hydraulic cooler next to the engine cooling intake is it feeds the engine pre heated air. The newer versions have it on the other side with its own outlet and a fan.

Nice mod, to bad it didnt get mutch quieter. I have a excavator in the same size but it has a one cylinder diesel engine and i would like it to be more quiet too, maybee its just easyer to wear headphones :D

The thing is air cooled, it takes hot air from previous cooling to cool hot engine. It's not the muffler the problem, there's no air circulation. I'm pretty sure if you could shround the fan air intake to outside, you'd get better results.
On my Uhi 12P, it's a bit different but i had the same problem, the thing gets hot as hell. It's liquid cooled, it takes fresh air from the side to cool the radiator but it dumps it all inside the cab.
I installed an 80w pull fan on the other side of the cab to pull the hot air out and it's night and day. And those little fans move a lot of air.
80W might be too much for the briggs charging circuit tho.

A couple things to note (not here to be rude, just some helpful hints):
The reason why it's not quieter is because it's not only the muffler that makes it quiet. Small engines are not designed with super exact specs like your car's engine or (for instance) a high end Honda engine. The reason quiet generators are so quiet is not just because they're enclosed, but because the engines are designed quieter with higher quality parts and much more stringent measurements (you're also going to pay a lot more for them too because of this). I learned this through another video where they were showing why a car muffler doesn't make your generator quieter. The muffler only quiets the exhaust from the combustion, the rest of the engine itself is still "clickity, clackity".
The only real benefit of this new muffler is directing the hot exhaust away from the engine so it runs cooler. These small engines are also not designed to be run enclosed, so you get the really high temps like the before images were showing. Having a cooling fan would help too, it might not make it warm to the touch, but just a bit of fresh air will extend the engine's life a lot.
Also, the heat wrap should be soaked in water before being applied to an exhaust system and allowed to be heated up after being applied to allow it to shrink to the exhaust. Otherwise it just falls apart, literally.
We just ran an external fuel tank on ours and I removed the OEM tank from the engine bay.
