A intelligent octopus or squid wearing a wetsuit it scavenged off of a dead diver to mimic a human for protection is one of the most plausible things I’ve ever heard on /x/

Most of the stories: I saw something completely unexplainable, mystical, horrible, or an unknown scientific wonder.

That anon who knew Frank: I saw a big fish once.

Imagine telling these stories in an underwater cave around a dive flare

/x/ in a nutshell:
>he felt something watching him 👀

The one about seeing his dead father at the bottom of the lake was so sad, could easily be a short film.

Who would win? A gigantic mechanical vehicle manned by some of the smartest creatures on planet earth? Or, a hungry rug?

Peak as fuck even in the big 2025

The story about Fredrick the giant octopus was probably my favorite out of all of these.

When I saw the Black Diver, I nearly had a Panic Attack.
The idea of Ghost Divers, or diving suits brimmed with black siphonophore, it absolutely terrifying.

Former sonar guy here, can say that the story about the sub encountering the black carpet is made up. We don't use active sonar to find things, we use it to get more info on stuff we've already found.

I have heard that if you are on a US Navy ship in parts of the oceans around Russia, you are almost 100% always being followed by a Russian Submarine. The funny thing is that most sailors seem to know this and it is a normal thing.

The Carpet is the coolest cryptid I've heard about in years. Cool.

Holy Diver
You've been down too long in the midnight sea

I found a phenomenon called call of the void, seems similar to the call of the deep. I have dived before but only once did I see the deep blue deep of the sea - there was a 90m-100m drop in the bay I was diving in and while I didn't get the urge to swim down, it was kind of hypnotising/alluring.

We innaocean now.
We need to sing some sea shanties

In the forests are stairs, in the water there were doors!

So this is where Lovecraft got his inspirations, interesting, honestly the petrified boat with door on the hull is the scariest of all the stories

@Triple_Siiix 6 years ago

"But it wasn't another bone, it was another skull."
