Hey guys! this challenge was INSANELY brutal on me so i would really love and appreciate it if you guys could do the usual like, comment ect and even hype the video! likewise please remember to take a look at demonschool here https://tinyurl.com/PrimalLiquidDemonschool all FF and persona fans will really enjoy it!

I always felt whoever coded the loot tables in this game did so with malice in their hearts

Me before the video starts: "Oh. It should be a giant grinding pain until Nihopalaoa, then it shouldn't be too bad, considering how early you can grab it."
Me as the video goes on: ".... this madlad is really doing it WITHOUT the Nihopalaoa?"

As someone who 100%ed FFXII at least twice on each version it came out... this has been probably one the most masochistic runs ever
Bravo for enduring it.

Im pretty sure the zodiac age changed chest spawns to be only 1 screen transition rather than 3.

Observations:
- Motes deal magic damage, thus are affected a character's magic power. They are also affected by weapon element boosts. Getting a black mage would have helped a lot. Early on, Black Mage magic power + Cherry Staff + Aero(ga) Motes = nice damage, for example. Magic power also affects the hit rate of motes that can miss.
- There's a free Pheasant Netsuke to increase healing items and fangs effectiveness right at Jahara, The Elderknoll inside a chest.
- Hastega motes do nothing in this challenge, since Items are instant use. Haste doesn't affect the cooldown period of an action either.
- Though hard, getting the Nihopalaoa through the bazaar would have helped a lot. This allows you to fully debuff an enemy with every single status ailment they are vulnerable to, by combining the Nihopalaoa, a Remedy and a character with all Remedy Lores. It also enables the Phoenix Down + Nihopalaoa Instant death combo on most mobs, for easy item drop/exp/LP farming.
- Should have tried to use Meteorite A and B on all bosses. A surprising amount are vulnerable to Disease and/or Sap.
- After Giruvegan, Knots of Rust can be bought in the airship route Archades/Balfonheim for 20 gil a piece.
- At Pharos, you can simply restock after the turtle and after reaching every main elevator shortcut at the start of each assent. There was no need to push through.

PD: Yes, Bubble basically doubles the damage of Knots of Rust. <- (does this count?)

Whoever programmed the treasure chest system was cracked! RNG for appearance, RNG drops, Diamond Armlet, and of course, the Seitengrat...

knots of rust! that was a crazy video

Changing a char's equipment in the menu resets their state. This can cancel the lag after using an item, which would've made your challenge a lot easier.

"I asked the dumbest lying idiot what my chances were, I mean I asked AI-"

Thank you, would love to see more FF12 challenges, one of my favourite entries in the series and it does a lot of things very well

Hey dude, love your videos. I dont often like and comment but felt compelled to in this case since this is an insane challenge and I dont think anyone has done this. Anyway, keep doing what youre doing, its awesome to see what is actually possible in these awesome oldschool games.

Did you forget to kill Basch whilst he was a guest in Barheim? Typing this as watching for the first time.

Those 'weird alien god things' are functionally gods. They are the managers of the world entrusted with keeping the intelligent races of said world from getting any lofty idea's beyond their stations (literally the antagonist's goal).

They also created the game's espers to do that job for them but Ultima lead a failed revolt against their creators. The fallout of that is more integral to FFT's plot. FF12 takes place in FFT's distant past with several civilization ending calamities in between (gods attempting to hit the reset button on humanity).

Oh and the entire planet the Ivalice games take place on is the corpse of a capital G God. I think it is by far the most interesting setting of any of the FF games when it comes to world building and lore.

Just the fact that you beat the final boss with items only and Icould never finish the game without restrictions is for me a true reason to give all my congratulations to you! I never beat the final boss! Maybe with the Zodiac version I could but I not at the end of the game and since I remember my ps2 version defeat I don’t want to try that much…

You haven’t popped up on my feed lately glad to see ya back on there bud lol

Doing this without Nihopalao is crazy, mad respect 😂 I hope you do more FF12 runs for sure. One of my favorites in the whole series. Great video, I respect your insanity.

Zodiac Age actually made the chest respawn after ONE zone instead of three
Edit 1: All Bangaas are weak to Water
Edit 2: Balance is sort of a status spell. So it missing is probably because the jobs you have are shitty spellcasters and Mobs have high Vitality
Edit 3: wow on getting lost on the story visit into the Great Crystal... that one is as linear as linear gets
Edit 4: The AI is actually inherently smart enough to not toss out Remedies the entire time if you set up Ally Any: Remedy. Theyll only use them if theres a CLEANSABLE status

Just started watching, and here are my immediate thoughts;
- Set the action speed to minimum, since items are instant
- Heavy Armor will be useless in this run, so use Light Armor to increase HP or Mystic Armor to boost magic(k)al item damage
- The ideal Jobs for this run are ones that give all Potion Lores, Phoenix Lores, Remedy Lores, +Max HP Licenses, and Magick Lores. After a quick wiki check, Archer/Black Mage is probably the best combination
- Elemental-boosting weapons and armor might boost elemental item damage
- Get as many Pheasant Netsukes as you can

I could tell you that the "No Summons" needs one exception since there's a door that requires Belias to open the door.

Dunno if u will remember me by this comment but long form ff12 is my favorite content from you. So I absolutely watched all the way thru to comment knot of rust. Thanks for this run, funny to see you actually broken by grinding for once.
