This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest challenge run videos on Youtube. The restrictions make things seriously difficult, but still allow for a huge amount of strategizing, between swapping around 7 different characters at all times, overdrive modes, equipment setups and much more. All of that presented with clear and concise explanations and tight editing. You should be very proud of this one.

Wait, wait, wait... you're telling us you did ALL of those challenges and edited the videos while having a day job? My man NGPlus is a legend! I upload less than once a month because of my day job... congrats on the step up!

Yuna laughing at Seymour's pathetic attempt to turn her to stone while dying to poison was so funny

Keeping track of enemies HP in real time as an edit is brilliant, I can't imagine how much work that took, loved the video!

I have no idea how you managed to knock what must have been hundreds of hours of footage to 4.5 hours while managing to squeeze in all the noteworthy failures, successes, and in between gains and more minor struggles.

Excellent video. Was great seeing it turn from a healthy amount of luck, to a game of 5D chess, to simply taking advantage of all the tools existing within the context of the rules to shutdown the ability for bosses to function (with some being a complicated mix of all of the above like Yunalesca), and all while staunchly refusing to use the innately overpowered overdrive options until they were mandatory to stand a shadow of a chance in post game while still only using the options achievable within the basic rules, only tweaking those when there was just zero other options as post game scaled up to its extremes.

10/10 challenge video and congrats on the transition to full time content creator

Absolutely stunning run. It turned out so much better than I ever expected it would, with so many close calls and cool strategies that you never see in any other challenge run. It has been a blast following along, theorycrafting, cheering. It's amazing to me that Dark Bahamut was just barely possible on the Expert Grid without resorting to Capturing, and Penance was truly a fitting climax to the run, being so close to impossible but still doable and extremely difficult to execute and having to take measured risks and adapt on the fly based on who gets hit, and also taking some of the most creative usage of the available resources to make those armor setups for it and even having Daredevil shine when it's so useless most of the time. Sinspawn Gui and Yunalesca were some serious highlights as well; Gui alone justified the usage of the Expert Grid due to allowing for Drain Fury to shine, and the Yunalesca fight took 3 hours in real time due to the constant necessary risk assessment and calculating how to navigate the fight and it just barely came out to an epic win.

Congrats on finishing it, after all these many months of hard work, and good luck on being a full time youtuber.

Even though you're OVER 100k, this should still DRIVE up new viewers!

Congratulations on everything dude, best of luck with it all! Also thank you for sorting out my evening watching for the next several days 😂

I think the fact that this challenge was so difficult is a testament to how well FFX's combat is designed. The game really wants you to interact with ALL of its systems, and the encounters are designed quite nicely to accommodate that. Huge kudos for getting this video out! I peeked at some of the live streams for the Penance fight and that experience would have killed a lesser person 😂

I'm shocked you managed to make such a brief video out of this run.

Was an absolute pleasure to follow this one live over the last year, and to waste your time with terrible strategy suggestions (RIP Lulu solo)

My God! A 4.5 hour NG+ video is my dream. Thanks so much guys. I watched a lot of this run live and it was fantastic

This video almost seems like a love letter to Rikku's insane versatility.

The editing for the health bars and multiple overdrives at once is on another level, great stuff as usual!

My favorite part of all of the Final Fantasy videos is the "I actually have no idea which Final Fantasy is my favorite" intro bit because man is that friggin relatable lmao

@hanniballahr94 1 year ago

I can't believe it's here... Remember when Luca felt like such an unsurmountable wall a lifetime ago and then Penance happened?

Good times.

@DraconisLeonidas 1 year ago

Bending the rules for the sake of taking down Penance was definitely worth it.

Also, I love how things played out with Kimahri. He seems useless at the start and even by the end, he can't do anything all that special in comparison to everyone else. He just gets some fortuitous equipment access the others don't and can be a reliable source of damage with quick recovery. It's always fun to see a character become seemingly shafted by a challenge run's rules only to find out they're still decently reliable in spite of it.

This is an amazing run and video. Most of the "new-school" challenge runners don't really give each fight the chance to breath, skimming over the strategies and only covering the big things. I'm glad that you took the time to add every detail you could instead of assuming that it would require too much work or drive people away with the long runtime. It's also cool that you never considered grinding as the default option, which led to some creative strategies that I haven't seen before.

@HorizonEdge 1 year ago

An absolutely insane accomplishment, not just the video, but 100k subscribers, fulltime content creation, you should be incredibly proud of what you've accomplished so far.
