Full restoration - will make your chanel explode! Most worthy car yet!

This one is a full restoration candidate, and I can tell you Ben I’m 100% here for it!

This, to me, is the very top level of car content.
Forget watching £100,000 M3 builds, this is bloody brilliant.

This car is exactly the sort of reason why I started following your channel. Lots of work ahead but lots of great content too.

The fact that more and more Youtubers are restoring classics that are generally not worth it (financially) through the "extra" Money they can make with the Video, makes me incredibly happy.

That was Olivers car. My father knew him from 1958 and was a good friend of his. I grew up with him as a family friend through the 70s and 80s in Wimbledon.

The Oliver Reed signature and full name checks out 👍

The lights are not off a lambo. The Lambo lights are off the  nissan.

Hi Ben, it definitely was Oliver Reed's car. His name was Robert Oliver Reed and he did live in Jersey and then moved to Ireland, where he died and is buried. I also checked the signatures which are correct and match. Well done, nice bit of history there. Strangely enough Norman Wisdom used to have the same model of car, I know this because I saw him driving one on the Isle of Man back in 1996 while I was at the TT.

At least the glass isn't rusty !!

An awesome car that belonged to an absolute legend.. Now in the hands of another...
It must live!

Yes — the English actor Oliver Reed did live at Castle McCarthy in Churchtown, County Cork, Ireland in his later years. He moved there in the early 1990s with his wife Josephine and made the Georgian house his home for about six years until his death in 1999.
Reed and his wife bought Castle McCarthy, a Georgian residence with surrounding land near Churchtown in North Cork, in around 1993.
He was well-known locally — a frequent patron of the village pub O’Brien’s Bar — and became part of the community there.
The Irish Times
After his death in a bar in Valletta, Malta in 1999, his body was brought back to Ireland and he was buried in Bruhenny Graveyard in Churchtown, close to his home and favourite pub.
So yes: Oliver Reed lived at Castle McCarthy in Churchtown during the final years of his life.

I would love to see this car rescued due to its provenance and the fact it's a fab car. I'd certainly buy raffle tickets if it was to be sold.
I'm sure it would make a brilliant addition to your collection if you wanted to go that way.
I would happily watch progress videos as well.

I think the celebrity link alone makes it worth saving, whether for sale or your collection. Just call it The Hellraiser.

holy shit... it is actually oliver reed's car man, thats a find. very cool.

About the headlights, it's actually the inverse : Lamborghini used the Nissan 300zx headlights on the Diablo. if you disassemble a Lamborghini Diablo headlight you'll find a piece of carbon fiber strategically placed to hide the Nissan logo

Is anyone old enough to remember Oliver Reed turning up on a chat show absolutely steaming. Must watch. Thanks again for great Saturday morning entertainment.

I had a similar problem with the clutch on a Triumph 2000. it turned out to be the flexible hose was expanding due to weakness. Pressure was used up expanding the hose instead of moving the slave cylinder. Keep up the good work.

NOw you have to keep it, it belonged to Oliver Reed, its a celebrity car (unless it fetches a high price at auction)

You just have to restore this car your channel will explode if you do especially with its history.
