Fun Dolphins fact. Guard Ed Newman was a Miami Dade County Judge for nearly 30 years and his baliff for his entire tenure was running back Tony Nathan.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Thanks so much. I was a 12 year old Barrister Bear in Massachusetts. Went to school there K-12. Lived in Little Havana before and after. The Orange Bowl I saw plenty of times heading home. Sad seeing its demolition (BTW just saw Joe Rose with a great catch downfield 👍). But to relive, see and hear these names on the field and in the booth 44 years later is surreal. Feels like yesterday. Don't know if we won or lost but there's still 3 historical quarters to go. Hard to believe Marino would arrive a year or 2 later. 🙏
God I miss the Orange Bowl! The Fins absolutely dominated at home. That energy was so brief at Joe Robbie Stadium.. and once Joe died and his family sold his legacy... the Fins were, and are cursed.
I was 16 years old and sat in the upper deck. 2 weeks later i was there in the rain for the AFC Championship game. Those games in the Orange Bowl were just special.
What I remember about Woodley was his inaccuracy. Even his completions often required highlight reel catches by his receivers. If Nathan had had break away speed he’d likely be in HOF.
The fan parody of the snow plow incident is hilarious -- as is Trumpy's disdain for it. Easy to forget this was era of the No Fun League, like literally banning the Fun Bunch. It's all fond memories now. Thanks again, Dave.
