Winter slides down the hill on school bags straight to the school janitor's barn, "Iskra" matches attended by entire families, and the Community Center with its library, café, and chess table.

Mr. Marek, a Szyldak resident since birth, recalls his childhood and youth, a time when the village was very different.

He recalls helping on the family farm, school discipline, volunteering with the Volunteer Fire Department, and the life of the local community. He also talks about working at the State Agricultural Farm in Pancerzyn, which was not only employment but also an opportunity to spend time together and build relationships.

This is a story about Szyldak of old, everyday life, resourcefulness, and people who knew how to enjoy simple things. Mr. Marek also shares these memories with the younger generation in mind.

The interview is conducted by journalist Jakub Czubak, who visits the region's residents in their homes, documenting and archiving their memories and personal testimonies.

Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the "Social Heritage" program run by the Social Archiving Center.
