Great vid as always
Ttyd ofc is the better rpg (and game overall), but that’s because Origami King isn’t trying to be an rpg, it’s an adventure game with puzzle elements. Where as Sticker Star and Color Splash masqueraded as RPGs, Origami King actually did its own thing, and I loved playing it! Exploring the worlds was fun, and figuring out how to get to a certain area or solve a puzzle was never frustrating (of course there are some points in the game that can be improved but nonetheless they never got in the way of the game). Additionally, Origami King’s visuals and music really immersed me in its world! Dare I say these are the best in the series in how it truly was able to make me feel a palette of emotions.
I understand why origami king was included in this list, but it’s honestly not a fair comparison when it’s not trying to be an rpg.
Another thing I think helps is that each individual segment isn’t that long, which I vastly prefer to Dream Team having you stay in the same area for 3-5 hours while almost nothing happens.
Admittedly I also just superficially like how much happens. I would have never expected Brothership to have as many cool moments as it did (both in story and fights).
Also there’s no way the Fire & Ice powers aren’t meant to be called backs to the hand powers, especially given how much the game does with them (Bro Bomb my beloved). The final boss specifically puts a lot of emphasis on them.
The top spot always changed between the first two paper Mario's and rpg. Those three games were peak
