"The good guys of WoD" it's a funny way to spell mummy.

Paradise lost and its consequences have been a boon to fantasy writers.

The movie ALIEN was actually about discovering an Earth Bound demon in deep space who’s lair was on another planet.

The "ultimate potential" divine spark of humanity that the WoD god was preparing people for was Exalted. My citation is I made this up just now and it's the funniest option.

He was absolutely Al Pacino in the Devil’s Advocate .He was having way too much fun in that role

I personally like the idea of Lucifer in WoD genuinely loving Humanity as much as he says he does but being like one of those pageant parents who never lets their kids make their own independent decisions. Like he’s got so much Pride that as much as he loves Humanity he actively fucks humanity over because he genuinely believes that Humanity will never thrive if it’s not because of his own intervention and that Hubris makes all his plans bite everyone in the ass.

“Humanity is destined for greatness! …But only if I show them how to do it and direct them every step of the way!” (And he like, genuinely means both halves of that statement. Like the Emperor of Mankind from WH40k)

The term "demon" in WoD is kinda confusing because it refers to multiple vastly different things, both narratively and mechanically.
My personal head cannon is after the demons were trapped in the nothingness that is hell and couldn't find Lucifer they turned on each other and began to tear what's left of apart. Hunting tormenting and torturing their old enemies, demons who they blame for the loss of the war, or just whoever they could get their hands on. Eventually this stopped. But the pieces and fragments that were lost were small enough to fit through the cracks in reality and fall into parts of the umbra. Some of those scraps even merged together into a larger more powerful but unstable entity. Like the spiritual equivalent of a Frankenstein's monster made entirely out of broken fingers.
These are the demons that the Baali and other infernalists know. The tiny, broken, incomplete fragments of the real demons. And the way to summon and bind them, is to recreate how they were ripped from the whole daemon in the first place. That's why demon rituals are so messed up.

I think Lucifer would be behind rom coms, or Tom Cruise movies. No I will not elaborate.

Something I absolutely adore about the WoD version of Lucifer is that while the story in itself casts him and the rebellion in a more sympathetic light, which is crucial for the Demon game itself, he is still very much an arrogant character. Not just in the manner of pushing against God's degree, but trying to do it in secret while essentially setting him and his closest cohorts as new gods guiding the mortals.

Actually, and this is where I appreciate the unreliable narrator bit of WoD, it is really easy to read the events as they presented, but without the perspective they are told from, and come to the conclusion that God's decree was completely correct as evidenced by how things unfolded. This is not some moralistic statement, but rather how well the Demon origin story manages to capture that nuanced uncertainty despite having probably the most firmly established backstory of all the WoD games.

Fun fact, taking inspiration from Dracula in WOD, Lucifer also wanted his story told. He however, used his powers in the film industry for wish fulfillment. He created a story about a fallen son (him) and the father who would do anything to get him back (God).

This film is called Finding Nemo.

Even if we grant that he is genuinely trying to serve the best interests of humanity, he still perfectly embodies the sin of pride associated with him, as well as the notion that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Even with the best of intentions, the guy is one-dimensional and fails to see that what he’s doing doesn’t really help. And so far, every action of his has only made things worse—the rebellion, the war, bringing back the earthbounds.
I think they succeeded perfectly in making the character truly two-sided—one that has a positive ring to it, yet still embodies what people generally associate with it.

If you want more exalted comparisons the Unconquered Sun is also basically very close to lucifer so its not even that unusal of an idea in that office

I remember reading Paradise Lost and the moment Lucifer stepped into the garden and was overwhelmed by its beauty he for once in his life questioned himself. He asks if he made the right choice and if he could go back to god, could he be redeemed? But he shakes his head and moves forward, that’s why lusifer is dammed, not because god cast him out, because his pride refuses him to admit the pain he caused and the sins he inflicted on himself and others. No matter how pure or dammed a person is every soul has to face the lord with his sins laid out before him, will you admit that pain you caused or will your pride get the better of you, we all have a choice free will that’s what the lord died to give us.

Glueboy, my man, the algorithm is buring you deeper and deeper. I'm losing you my boy! 😭

love you covered this its my fave WOD lore

The path to Hell is paved with good intentions - in this case, literally.

Just what I needed

Good stuff man. Love WOD.

8:30 this wasn't the introduction of sin, this was the creation of the concept of murder. There were natural and unnatural deaths abound, but the concept of killing someone, of causing someone to die by force because you didn't want them to live was a new premise that didn't exist until Cain. That is what turned the angel's debates into an actual war. Angels weren't able to kill each other because the concept or premise of murder didn't exist. You slaughtered animals because they were animals that were beneath you. The concept of murdering a peer in your own kind of being was new. Then the war started becoming an actual war with murder.

Not including the (WoD) Lucifer lore from book of Nod and book of Lilith was surprising. Still a great video.
