In our defence, WE did not recommend this show to Danny, his mom did

My favourite genre of comedy is Danny slowly losing his mind as he talks to himself

As a 61 year old, out, gay male, yes, there are a million rational reasons why 2 dudes might be in an art gallery looking at paintings. But when you’re in the closet, you’re brain is not rational, you’re not thinking logically. All you’re thinking is “everyone knows, everyone KNOWS, EVERYONE KNOWS!” I don’t have any gay friends who didn’t go through similar scenarios prior to coming out. It was exhausting.

The Shane and Scott fight scene is so funny because it's like baby's first insult gets met with an AK47. Shane's out here like "haha you played bad" and Scott comes back with "where's your secret gay loverboy?" And THEN Shane ALSO gets roasted by the commentators asking "Has Hollander ever fought ANYBODY?" Like that was a pretty tame chirp and now my boy's getting murdered out on the ice lmao 😭

Not the straight guy clocking the 'my man' line but only said in the closet. I didnt even clock that

Fun fact: the actor for Kip is a pro rugby player in real life which is why he’s totally ripped 🤣

8:20 in the first book, it describes Scott Hunter in a form-fitting underarmour shirt that somehow managed to show every bump of his rippling muscles, and damn if the costume team didn’t make that dream a reality

"Can 'We Didn't Even Kiss' please be the most stressful part of this show?"
Oh, Danny, you have not even BEGUN to experience true stress yet.

19:55 for record WE didnt recommend this (your mother was faster )

Im glad you also noticed how happy Scott was when he realized that Kip stayed at his place like he asked. It’s legitimately one of my favorite scenes because it’s so sweet

Also Scott covering up the banana socks with standard athletic ones- visual metaphor for Scott having to suppress his sexuality and love for the sake of playing the game that he’s centered his whole life around 😭

I love the posts about the Shane v Scott fight. Like Shane really just said “haha you played bad” and Scott whipped out “i know what you are”

0:45 hey Danny episode 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 comes with risk of crying

29:14 The symbolism of Scott hiding the socks Kip gave him with the athletic socks🥲🥲

As a gay man who has both lived parts of and dreamed of other aspects of this experience: no, you’re not looking too much into this at around 26:41. It’s there. You’re reading correctly.

“Can ‘We didn’t even Kiss’ please be the most stressful part of this show?” Oh my sweet summer child..

So we’re all in agreement that Kip’s father is the BEST fictional father EVER?!

20:23 Not me just realizing that he probably hasn't come home to someone after practice/a game for more than half his life🥺

12:56 hearing "you're starting to sound like him" when the last interaction shane had with ilya was the whole "we didnt even kiss" thing is a HATE CRIME

29:45 at the end when Scott covers up the socks my heart just shatters as he still think about Kip but he has to hide it
