After getting my first custom wheelchair in spring of 2023, I realized the chair was not well fit to me, by body, or my needs at all! I tried to use the chair and "get over it" for a year but decided it was causing more harm so I reached out to my supplier to see if they'd replace it since it was kinda their fault it was so bad in the first place. They (to my surprised) agreed! I went through the fitting process again with a new ATP and was able to articulate what I wanted and what wasn't working. FINALLY they delivered my new and improved chair and let me tell you it is SO MUCH better!

Ahh I’m so glad for you! This seems to fit you SO much better, I still can’t believe how much they messed up your first one!

I know this is from several months ago, but wow, that first chair was absolutely not set up or built for you - from the too-wide seat to the too-wide backrest angle (this is a big reason why you couldn't do wheelies in this chair, and why your posture felt off) to the too-long frame length (this is the other main reason you couldn't do wheelies in it) to the too-obtuse front angle, yeah, that's not a functional chair for you.
If you do find yourself feeling like you're falling forward at all while sitting in it/having to hold yourself back in order to stay upright, dropping the rear seat height, even just a little, can help a ton (it's super easy to adjust). I don't know whether they've changed it for the bolt-on height adjustable push handles (the bolts that came with my handle brackets take a 3/16" allen wrench), but for sure all the bolts on the chair itself are metric, so a set of metric allen wrenches will be your friend (the biggest bolt - caster fork angle adjuster - takes a 6mm). I live 2 1/2 hours from the nearest Numotion location (used to be 5 hours, until they reopened their closer one a few years ago), so I've been on my own for making any adjustments that don't out and out require a tech (at this point, I've done so much adjusting, cleaning, etc., on it that, except maybe for some specific internal pieces that I've never seen (I've already learned how some of the internal-only pieces work and how they go in), I could probably take my entire chair apart and put it back together completely on my own).
Cool to see that you got yours through Numotion as well - glad to see that they will do a refitting if the chair just doesn't work. I'm due for a new chair this year (tomorrow is my 5-year gotcha day), and there are so many things I'm going to be changing - my new seat will be at least 1" narrower, possibly even 2" (I'll have to try out a 2" narrower one to find out whether or not it will be too narrow - I already know 1" narrower will work). Hoping to have my new chair by the time I leave town for Christmas.

When you do wheelies, use the center of gravity...if the center of gravity (COG) isn't set for wheelies, you won't be able to do wheelies.(the wheels need to be forward of the axles).
Also, you couldn't pay me to get little wheels (24") ever again.. The larger ones...25" or 26" make the chair go farther per push. I also have the E-Motion power assist wheels.

the new one looks like it fits u wayyyy better, but you do seem to be "on" the chair rather than "in" it. has that caused u any issues? it looks like u almost have a slight reverse dump, sliding ur knees down and body foward. that can work well for some people though since positioning is super individual, i'm just curious since it's nonstandard.
edit: rewatching this, the new wheels look way too far down, u should be able to touch the axle while sitting up straight. maybe it'd be helped by switching to a 25 or 26 inch wheel, but that will mess up ur dump even more so idk. try adjust the dump/rear seat height, it should be pretty easy.

Your new chair's seat looks like it doesn't have any dump. That doesn't seem like a good idea to me because not having any dump to me would make me feel like I could easily get thrown from my chair face first. But at the end of the day all that matters is if you're happy with the new chair. Congrats!

At first i have to say english is not my first language.
I found your channel and i know how you feel. If you need a wheelchair, then you need a personaly fitted chair if you want and need to use it. With a good chair you can do much more. I am not paralyzed but still need a chair. At first i had normal standard chair which was okay, but sitting and getting around was bad. With my fitted light chair i can do most of the things i want.

Your new chair looks awesome! I have a mono tube as well (TiLite ZRA titanium with purple anodized accents on the forks and casters). I'm researching for a new backrest. Your video popped up in my search. I subbed!

I think sometimes they think you will wear thick clothing like coats in the winter. This is particularly true in cases.
Where there are colder climate. However, I know what you mean about the fat baby I have gained a little weight since using my newest chair however, I now have much decreased movement than previously and people used to ask me how how I kept my figure like it was. I don’t think people think people would disability do anything physical I even had a doctor advised another doctor over the phone when he heard my condition that I would be fat and the poor doctor on the receiving hand had to reply in the negative. I don’t like to have that much gap because doorways are such a problem anyway and if you are a tall person like me at 5 feet seven, you already take up a fair amount of room.

I'm getting a new wheelchair too. I'm going from a 16" ki mobility rouge 2 that's just silver and black to a 14x14 tilite z wheelchair that's going to be white with purple accents. I saw you on Tiktok first and actually learned how to do a wheelie from someone else on Tiktok. If your still struggling with them, you actually have to go back farther than you think

As soon as I saw you sitting in your old chair I thought, Wow, That's way too big. Being too wide makes doorways harder to fit through etc. Not sure about your wheelies. But it looks like you are leaning forwards, which puts your centere of gravity further forwards. Maybe try leaning further back? Have someone there to catch you if you over do it!
