You're sharp! Eisen's reference to the Hero of the South was so early and fleeting in the first season that most people don't remember it at this point.

The puppets were actually constructed, and performed by professional puppeteers for the animators to study. This animation team is amazing.

The Hero of the South is a very moving story. Someone willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice to achieve an ultimate good. I think the "apple" spell is just a contrast to the "itchy parts of the back" spell. The first is pretty useful...and the later...not so much. I've seen several others "do the math"...and after all the killing of the sages there seems to be 1 left. Foreshadowing? Have a Blessed week.

Evan Call once again skillfully showcasing the story with his use of music, and the showrunners strategically using the isolated sound of rain before hitting us with the final words. Amazing.

I love that Eisen actually mentioned the Hero of the South during a S1 flashback (the shaved ice flashback I believe). Crazy the world building going on.

“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” -Greek Proverb
They cemented a whole new character we only know 7 minutes long.

most reactors never brought it up, but I figured you definitely would—and you did, just like I expected. About the magic that changes the apple’s color. A lot of people say Season 2 is boring compared to Season 1, but I’d love to hear your take again on how you enjoyed it all the way through.

Fun Fact... Hero of the South looks a lot like the National Hero of the Philippines, Jose Rizal... And probably it's a hint that the Philippines is south of Japan...

10:33 This time it is a good one: To turn red apples into green apples
Saying that while at the market red AND green apples were on sale side by side. 😆
