Imagine calling because of a horrid smell, and your dog acting strange, only to learn that your dog is dead and replaced by an imposter.

Carol’s actress is great, she really hits the uncanny valley in the “good” ending.

The prankster caller most probably was turned into a mouse because he broke Fae's unspoken rules. Just like a lot of doomed clients.

A small detail but you're not supposed to eat anything the fae give you, yet HSH tells you to eat the fae feast, because they are fae.

Mike was turned into a mouse, and they hired a cat to find the mouse, thats why he mentions that it found him

The moment she use thy and thee in her sentence already sets off a red flag for me.

13:29 it's Whiskers The Cat. Another company email mentioned him and asked employes not to feed Whiskers. They clearly buy (or stole - because one of the clients had the cat with exact the same name) him to kill underpefroming mice ex-employees.

The reason for the iron solution thing is actually fairly simple

According to many tales, fae folk are incapable of touching manmade metals. Hurts them and such. So it actually has some lore grounding from our world's tales

this is an accurate portrayal of working costumer service at a call center

I think you skipped the corporative mail about the Company adopting Whiskers the cat just before Mike's mail about their hole being compromised

Ironn is a common item used to battle Fae in Northern European folklore. Something to do with it being unnatural to the Fae. It's also partially why fairy type pokemon are weak to steel and poison

I love the balance of horror and comedy in this game. It doesn't take itself too seriously but some of the concepts are quite terrifying and the voice acting really enhances it.

When mythology is just another mundane thing in a alternate universe.

The 'creature' that catches the previous employee is the Cat the company acquire after day 2.

I'd almost imagine HSH Being a public branch of the SCP Foundation

this game was scary, up until the ending where we had the higher ups dancing behind trees and ngl that just made this sooo funny

Its weird that the company cat is named Whiskers, the same cat one of the callers tells us she had. Either they named a cat the same, or after helping her, her cat gets taken. Or maybe she got hired?

Maybe the prank callers are actually some species of boggart, reason being is that when flipper “kills” the person in his phone call, the noise escalated just like how the boggarts audio sample does

This is proof that you don’t have to have a huge budget and complex systems/mechanics to make a unique and enthralling game. This game is literally just reading encyclopedia articles and emailing people them and nothing else and it’s still one of the most captivating horror indie games I’ve ever played.

With the artifacts, it’s less of an “could” and “if” situation on starvation, and more of a “definitely will” one, because if I’m not mistaken for that entry, there isn’t exactly a way to save children or small animals who are encased at all.
