Something is wrong with the Sun. You don't know what caused it, but it's gotten so hot that it is burning people alive. Folks can only go outside at night anymore, but those who do have been noticing something strange...

Today I analyze the world and apocalypse of my new favorite horror game, No I'm Not A Human. We'll take a look at the lore, and come up with some theories as to what caused the events in game.

In the age of AI I would like to give you a standing ovation for finding small artists to do comic strips for your video and to whoever did the voices for the characters.

Respect to the food distributors for preventing starvation though. They somehow managed to keep making deliveries to the house.

The hardest thing I did in my first playthrough in of game was keeping the neighbours kid alive at all costs, even though trying to keep her away from FEMA made the game a nightmare, but somehow I did it.

Because I made a promise.

Summer in the Balkans simulator

The Mushroom ending or "Shroom or Doom" ending is probably just a metaphor for a nuclear solution. You try to prevent it but you are to late. The clock being at midnight (one of the steps to get this ending) is a reference to the real life Doomsday Clock hitting midnight meaning nukes have been dropped. The big glowing mushroom in the city being a mushroom cloud. This is also suggested by lines like: "They can grow very fast when things go bad" and "Why, the cap could cover the whole Earth."
I'm not sure if the Mushroom Guy even exists or if he is just part of the protagonists imagination after you eat the random mushroom from the basement.

the concept of the pale man toying with the player character reminds me of an episode of the magnus archives where a person is visited by a monster every night, but any time they hide under the blanket, the monster freezes. this happens for several nights until the blanket suddenly doesnt do anything to stop the monster. it gets really close before whispering "the blanket never did anything."

Judge Holden, the pale man and Mr. Beast have the same smile

Nah, The Visitors are like cicadas. The sun goes super hot periodically (maybe a few thousand years) and every time it does these things wake up, use human bodies to reproduce (and eat) then when the heat fades they burrow back underground and go back to sleep. At least that’s my theory

@melspuppies8282 8 months ago

In a real life scenario, imagine the electricity. The casings on wires would melt, the only food would have to be canned and even then could boil. Think of the water. It would start to vaporize if the sun got hotter, making it scarce. You wouldn't be able to leave at night in fear of being killed by a visitor, you can't leave during the day or you'll burn to death. And who knows what's infected? Are animals infected? Soil? What would be the breaking point? What would be earth then, because it would be a global phenomenon.

the pale man is so interesting, the other visitors we encounter all try to blend in and sneak into houses to kill discreetly while that dude just straight up aura farming in our windows, giving us philosophical speeches while massacring the neighbour hood, he isnt even trying to hide the fact that he is a visitor.

@LeSpaghettiguini 9 months ago

You definitely missed one thing. There's a guest you can invite in that talks about a visitor that's basically a god and specifically eats burnt bodies. I'm curious if the burning of the bodies just made that one visitor stronger and they stopped burning bodies to stop giving it food.

I absolutely love how the pale man has a southern accent because they said “howdy”

26:22 "During the story she tells us, she says that the men who invaded her apartment started touching her on her arms and shoulders. At first it didn't seem particularily sinister..." I'll take shit only a man would say for 500, Alex lmao

@kolonarulez5222 10 months ago

I love the accent you gave to the Pale Man. The very first time I saw him I went "Howdy, Judge Holden."

I love the Eastern European setting it really a perfecting setting for the universe. Such as the cultural norm of not smiling to strangers,making it easier to disguise your teeth. The Soviet block apartments in the background of the main door. A perfectly plausible situation to find yourself living in only for it to seem sinister and as if the architecture is actively hostile to you

There's a reference to the Thing (2011) prequel here.

The Thing is unable to copy inorganic materials (metal and tooth fillings for example), this is used as a potential test to see who human and who ain't

It's not perfect ofc, some characters who don't have their teeth filling could potentially be the Thing imitation. One of the characters who is human even says this

I'm gonna die simply because I floss?

I find Apocalypses like this absolutely terrifying (Ones that are related to the Sun) i just cant describe it. I really have no words but im just terrified of them.

37:47 i believe the game is particularly unique bc it’s happiest endings are the ones where the protagonist doesn’t survive. imo the one where he jumps down the hole and meets death is the happiest bc he ends up finding peace and reaches the solitude and quietness he yearned for while he was alive. sometimes when chaos, visitors, loss and hopelessness wait at every corner, death seems like the only place one can be truly find rest. which is why the protagonist is never happy after surviving the ordeal but rather wary of worse things to come.
