Prof- please do a vid like this for every set. I’d love to watch those

The B grade is perfect: just high enough to piss off the people who hate it, and just low enough to piss off the people who love it 😂

Honestly big props to the explanation of Bottom Up versus Top Down design. I could never keep them straight, but this explanation helped a ton.

as someone who is actively studying games design at university, it was really nice to see someone actually bring up the distinctive methods in card game design that are important to think of during evaluation. i really hope you do more videos like these where you break down the sets into their component parts, i think that would be really healthy for the community to understand designers better.

I really appreciate the objective and reasoned takes! It would be useful to see what a "B" is in context of other sets - so looking forward to reviews of other sets as well!

Connive was the Obscura (esper) mechanic, not the Maestros (grixis) mechanic. either way, it's not super in-pie for the third colour (W or R). Im glad we've gotten more of it though it's a super rad mechanic

This was such a good video. I love the idea of grading the sets the same way you do WotCs other products, and the insight into game design was intriguing. I hope you continue to do these for other sets in the future!

What an EXCELLENT breakdown of the set in this video. You did an excellent job going through all the things that you can CLEARLY see the designers doing right for this set. I may have the Marvel fatigue as well but seeing a lot of casual people GENUINELY enjoy the set really made me happy & hopeful that they keep up at least a GOOD performance in the design space for the inevitable Marvel sets to come so I can keep watching others get into things and enjoy the game. Ive watched at least 2 dozen people get into the game due to UB and they ALL saw the other Magic sets and fell in LOVE with the In Universe Magic stuff. Warms my heart and makes me really look forward especially after all the great announcements for upcoming sets next year. ❤😁

This is a fantastic style of review and critique! Very well written, with great tone. This is the kind of presentation I'd LOVE to see more of.

I love that TCC also includes context on their revision of past and currents sets. For instance, taking in consideration the pro scene for this set. Simply amazing

Amazing breakfast refresh pull

Ok so what is most wild to me is that we are already talking Final Conclusion and talking about the next set... like this pace is wild.

The set was fine and fun. If this were the last marvel set I really wouldn't mind. Problem is we're getting like 4 more sigh

I like this video format of set reviews, would love to see more in the future or even, if possible, reviews for sets from the past

I got the beginner box to see if I could use it to get literally any other person in my life to play, and it's genuinely the best introduction set I've seen. The complexity of MtG is one of the biggest obstacles to getting anyone to play and this literally walks you through game turns. For experienced players it might look like overkill, but the mixture of familiar characters and simple cards streamlines the experience so much for anyone who is daunted by the size of the game.

For limited, I think this set best represents the importance of pod play in draft and of deck building skill in sealed. In Arena BO1 once you get past 3 wins it’s all white and blue. In paper draft there’s a lot of self correction, and in sealed you can’t really force a color as easily.
