You should watch Liverpool FC football club fans sing this song

Liverpool FC
RIP the 97
YNWA
🟥⚽️

Of course this will always be associated with Hillsborough, and is the anthem for Liverpool, but one of the greatest things Liverpool supporters do is sing this for others going through personal strife. Seeing them singing for Ronaldo after he lost his son was such class and respect.

This is the best ever version of this song. We played this at the end of my nephews funeral service.

Gives me goosebumps every time. This is such an emotional song for the people of Liverpool.

Liverpool in Australia football game 95000 fans singing the song beautiful

Celtic FC and Liverpool fans singing this before a game is aw inspiring!! 🍀💚❤️

This is a classic and the anthem for Liverpool football club… some of the performances from fans are emotional

My impression was when theres nobody else, Gods walking with you

This song is from the musical Carousel. The version in the movie is stunningly beautiful.

This tune was originally from the musical Carousel. The Broadway Production was in 1945 and the film was released in 1954. Gerry and Pacemakers was part of the Mersey Sound in the early 60’s along with the Beatles and for awhile competed with them as they where under the same management!

Hearing Elvis sing this song is something else 🔥🎶

Played before every Liverpool FC home game, it's an anthem. Gerry and the Pacemakers being from Liverpool during the Merseybeat sound era that spourned The Beatles at the same time. The song is originally from the Rogers and Hammerstein musical Carousel but was recorded by this Liverpool band and it struck a chime with the fans of the club when they played chart hits behind the game (and when it went out of the chart people were asking where did our song go) and it became their anthem and is played before every home game and sung by the crowd during games as well.

I’ve been a Liverpool supporter for nearly 30 years and still get goose bumps when I hear fans singing this.

The anthem of Liverpool! The song takes great meaning if you watch a video on the Hillsborough tragedy after which  all the people of Liverpool pulled together to support each other.

Gerry and the Pacemakers were the SEcond best band out of liverpool. The Beatles were the first. Its the anthem song of the Liverpool FC.

If you want to see how powerful and emotional this is for Liverpool and Liverpool fans there are loads of videos on here showing you the fans singing their hearts out at games, it means so much to them, there is even a video of two of the most famous football managers (Jose Mourhino and Wenger) stop talking to commentators so as to listen to the fans singing this and commenting about how beautiful and unique it is. You have never heard the song properly until you hear thousands of Liverpool fans sing it at the top of their voices, it's something else.

The Hillsborough disaster was a fatal crowd crush at a football match at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, on 15 April 1989. In May 1989, a charity version of the Gerry and the Pacemakers song "Ferry Cross the Mersey" was released in aid of those affected. The record was produced by Stock Aitken Waterman and featured Liverpool musicians Paul McCartney, Gerry Marsden (of the Pacemakers), Holly Johnson, and The Christians. It entered the UK Singles Chart at number 1 on 20 May, and remained at the top of the chart for three weeks. Despite having stronger ties to Liverpool F.C., Gerry and the Pacemakers' earlier hit "You'll Never Walk Alone" was not used because it had recently been re-recorded for the Bradford City stadium fire appeal. However, this song was sung at multiple memorials for the Hillsborough disaster, including at Liverpool Cathedral, Hillsborough Stadium, and Anfield Stadium.

This song was written by Rogers and Hammerstein for the musical Carousel  in 1945. Gerry and the Pacemakers put their spin on it in the early 60s as part of the English Invasion. They, along with the Beatles, are from  Liverpool.

It's the greatest football anthem of all time. You should watch the fans sing it. It sends shivers down my back and a lump to my throat. Oh, FYI, the singer's name is pronounced Jerry.
