Disney won't let anyone use Zombie Spider-Man for comics or movies, but they'll randomly let the Marvel Snap devs include him in the artwork for a Zombie Galacti card. This technically means that October 2025 is the latest appearance of Zombie Spider-Man.

Headcanon: Zombie Sentry is just floating around in the fully consumed zombie universe doing nothing cause he was actually the first to find out about the hunger thing and is basically doing what Omniman did after beating Mark. EXCEPT he actually went into the black hole

Fun fact, Spider-Man isn't the only character Marvel has put Zombie restrictions on.

When board game company CMON did their Marvel Zombies Game under the Zombicide Board Game line. Spider-Man was restricted from appearing as one of the Zombie heroes. Between Peter and Miles there are 4 Spider-Men in the game (yeah Peter gets 3) None of which are zombies unless you play with Homebrew rules.

The other major omission from the Zombie Heroes roster was Black Panther. Who was restricted due to Chadwick Bosemans passing.

The Punisher was also barred from appearing, but that had more to do with Marvels ongoing situationship with Punisher overall than anything else.

Seeing how violent they got makes it really funny in retrospect how Marvel got mad at Universal for depicting the heroes brutalized at Halloween Horror Nights.

“This is an entire universe filled with abandoned buildings, and dried blood stains” is a terrifying sentence.

Maybe it's because of how you described it but Earth-Z's fate is so bleak, the fact they were actually able to hold off the zombie apoclypse for years make it suddenly turning into a wasteland once Hulk and Sentry were infected even worse, and now Earth Z is doomed to forever relive this fate.

that sandman killing the wrong spider-man scene is so brutal, traumatized the hell out of me as a kid lol

finally xavier uploads after all these years!

I can never hate this because I LOVE Sandman being the ultimate hero of the universe that defeats the zombies.

One moment that always stuck out to me as kinda funny was how the human survivors said that the zombies had to pay for their crimes and allow themselves to die, and Ant-Man was like “remembering what we did was punishment enough” and I just snorted.

Like COME ON. They’re victims but they racked up a body count of the trillions? Quadrillions? Even more, through the span of four decades? Yeah, “living with the guilt” doesn’t seem very just to me. Anyone else? Lol

My head canon for where the virus came from is that the version of Marvel Zombies with Superman did happen, but it was the chicken in the chicken and egg scenario. Superman being the reason why the Watcher quarantined the two universes together is to plug the hole to the DC Universe to avoid copyright laws, or universal cosmic consequences, and we pick up the story in the egg timeline.

I think my pet peeve with Zombie Spider-Man issue isn't even the gore (even though it is overly edgy gory) but the fact Earth-Z Spider-Man being killed by Sandman, which just implies, Spider-Man could have been easly killed off by one of his enemies. Idk, this basicly got me feeling like those movie nitpickers that said "thanos would have been killed if Ant-Man went to his ass".

Something really interesting is that when you consider how far Giant Man goes to manipulate everything and shape Earth-Z and try to push further into the Multiverse; he kind of was a proto-Maker.

20:57 It’s honestly kinda impressive that he tore his skin off, in one piece, face first, with his costume on underneath. That takes skill.

one thing that really bugged me about Marvel Zombies Return #1 as a kid, is that Spider-Man says that his organic webs dried up after he got infected and turned into a zombie and then he has to use his veins. What makes no sense to me though is that in ultimate fantastic four, army of darkness, marvel zombies 1&2 and dead days, he's clearly shooting his regular webs and even in marvel zombies 2 he says "luckily ive been keeping my web fluid in reserve in case of situations just like this" which implies he has web shooters, not organic ones

Spider-Man got hit with the deviant art ray

Another thing that I always disliked about Marvel Zombies Return is that for no reason whatsoever the zombies could feel pain now, while it was mentioned multiple times in the first 2 minis that they didn't feel pain anymore after getting infected. They really didn't give a shit about continuity after Kirkman left

You know it's kinda funny. Despite EVERYTHING Zombie Peter went through--eating his wife and aunt, his entire planet, his entire UNIVERSE, accidently spreading the infection and getting alternate versions of his friends and himself killed--he's STILL written with more respect than 616 Pete WISHES he could be.

But seriously, Zombie Spider-Man is one of my favorite renditions of the web-slinger as he is easily the most heroic of the zombies and manages to try his best to atone for what he's done in spite of his predicament like any good Spider-Man should. Him overcoming his hunger and going against Giant Man and the rest is one of the highlights of 2. As well as him sacrificing himself to stop the zombies once and for all with the nanite-infused Sandman knowing that MJ and May are avenged.

My personal nitpick with the series is that there are a few moments where some of the zombified characters dialogue does not really feel in character. Things like the noble, royal T’Challa saying “It’s weird”. I just can’t imagine him using the word ‘weird’ for some reason.

20:17 the weird thing about this death scene is sandman was worried about being bitten….so he went into what he thought was a zombies mouth to implode him.
