Bob Newhart brings his classic comedy routine, "The Driving Instructor", to the stage. In this performance from his 1992 Showtime special, OFF THE RECORD, originally performed on his 1960 Grammy Award-winning album, THE BUTTON-DOWN MIND OF BOB NEWHART, he imagines a typical training session. #newhart #classic #standup #newdrivers #humor

An American treasure sorely missed. One of a kind.

American and British comedy can be so different and as a Brit I don't always connect with it but I've always loved this guy. Absolute genius particularly at this type of delivery

May you rest in peace Bob. I'm 76 years-old, and Bob Newhart has always been one of my favorites. He was one of the best!

My favorite comic actor! Just so funny and no vulgarity. His TV show was great!

Such a great comedian! Don’t make them like him anymore. It’s nice to be able to listen to a routine without the obnoxious beeping signifying curse words being blocked out. Sometimes there are so many you almost forget the routine.

As a retired driving instructor, I can fully identify with Bob's character.

Love Bob's work after all these years I still get a great laugh

Bob Newhart was funny from the very first line to the very last line of his dialogues

I first hear Bob Newhart perform the driving instructor more than 50 years ago: but it's still as funny today as it was then. The classics never age. His roasting of Don Rickles was brilliant, but Rickles paid him back in kind.

This is my most favorite skit of Bob Newhart. You are missed Bob and were very brilliant with your humor. RIP Bob Newhart.

I'm 75 and I remember listening to my late brothers records of Bob Newhart when I was young. Thought he was very funny, and still do. Sad he is no longer with us, but sadly, those I listened to in my early years, have mostly passed.

Poor Mrs Webb. A good, composed, driving instructor is hard to find, a talented comic is rare.

I had the honor of seeing Bob Newhart do this routine live in 2013. It is a great memory that I will never forget! R.I.P Bob Newhart

When I was young in Britain in the 60s Bob Newhart was a huge star and I suppose he was the very first comedian super star. I loved his records and still listen out for him on the radio today.
