Let me know your favourite Greek god/goddess/hero 🤍

"He must be a big fan of hamilton" so about that, Jorge (creator) recently posted a photo of him and Lin manuel miranda having lunch.

I thought about why would Penelope wait 10 years when there's every reason to believe he's dead, but I remembered he literally chose Penelope while others where pining over Helen, the literal most beautiful woman in the world. So yeah, she's not taking anyone but him. She'd rather be alone.

Man, that stanley fella in the chat really gets off from typing spoilers, huh?

"Zues can just have another baby,"
With how Athena was born, I don't think he'd be too eager to 😂

2:40:57 So Jorge said the guitar is Odys instrument, and it's electric when he's angry, acoustic otherwise. So at this part we hear the electric come in. He gets angry at the very idea of moving this bed. Which was the point Penelope was making anyway. She tricked him to remind him no matter how he changed he's still her husband.

i love how Hermes is the people's favorite character and he has TWO SONGS in the entire musical
i love it 😭

someone take away stanley_390's keyboard privileges PLEASE

He’s Hermes’s great grandson so yes, Ody can trust Hermes.

Jorge said that if he were to do this live, instead of on stage, he'd make it a circus act because of how action heavy it is

Bro, Stanley_390 does NOT know when to shut up lol. Bro was typing spoiler after spoiler in the chat

not usually the biggest fan of musicals but this one had me absolutely captivated! i think the mythology setting helped for sure but wow this was a roller coaster

Last time I checked Scylla isn’t among the list of Greek monsters where winning a fight is possible.

“If there isn’t an Iliad version he needs to get on that”. Well I’ve got news for you. He just announced he started it called ilium

Jorge is working on adapting the Iliad into a musical right now actually

I just want to clear a couple of "fun facts" I've seen in the comments.

-Calypso is NOT cursed to fall in love with those who end up on her island. In the Odyssey she is fully in control of herself and takes full advantage of Odysseus, the entire time on her island he spends his entire days crying and yearning for Penelope, and forced to stay with her in the night. Trust me when I say she is not a sympathetic character, she's just as much a villain as the other monsters and threats Odysseus faces.

-Penelope is NOT sitting on the other end of the 12 axes. The entire challenge is set up so only Odysseus or a god in disguse could ever hope to clear it. She would absolutely never do that. Also... THE SUITORS WOULD SEE THIS AND IMMEDIATELY CLOCK IT ANYWAY. Why would they do it?

-Didn't see it yet but incase someone tries to say, Odysseus's mom Anticlea DOES NOT drown herself after Odysseus is swept away by the winds in Keep Your Friends Close. She passes away purely from old age and grief.

-The reason Odysseus gets so much flack for the Cyclops Polyphemus is because to blind/essentially cripple him, and then leave him alive is the ultimate level of disrespect to another person in Ancient Greece. Especially when Odysseus has the audacity to claim that it is a mercy given by him to let him live. But at the same time his response to Poseidon in Ruthlessness is actually perfectly what you're supposed to do when confronted like that.

-Speaking ot Polyphemus, Odysseus is actually 100% in the wrong for that entire encounter. They showed up to his house killed his favorite sheep friend, drugged him with wine, and then blinded him, and had the nerve to act like he was merciful in sparing him.

-This is because I saw it in chat, Odysseus DOES NOT DROP ASTYANAX FROM THE WALL TWICE! The walls of Troy are so freaking high and tall and not to mention... it's a baby. Messed up as it is to say it does not take much for a drop to kill Astyanax.

Please know none of this is meant to be angry with the other comments as they're really just sharing facts they genuinely thought were factual and enhanced the story. But they're still very wild misconceptions about The Odyssey. As a recently new nerd about Greek myth, I still wanted to clear it up. Love the reaction!

Literally the worst thing about watching streamers react to this is that their chat just doesn't know how to keep their mouths shut its infuriating.

Its fun watching other people react to this musical masterpiece.

100% serious we watched this in my English class this year. Only got through the ocean saga but that’s what got me into epic 😭

-TLDR for All Greek Gods: EVERY SINGLE ONE IS AN AHHHOLE, Yes Even Ones like
Athena, Hera, Aphrodite, even Hermes Yes All are A-$OLEs. EXCEPT for Hades who surprisingly is a Chill and Reasonable dude.

- Immortal Legends like the Oracle, Prophet, Scylla are more so Grey Moral People

- The Entire Epic the Musical, is more so Accurate but more have been Romanticisms of the Epic. So what you see could just be a Artistic or a Romantic Lens view of the Venture.

- There's YouTube Vids Explaining the Odyssey that goes in depth of each Adventure if you're interested.
