There are tons of cool themes to explore in Reality Fracture limited and today we decided to try our hands at a nice Selesnya life gain deck. This was a textbook example of how you want a life gain deck to start.

Big shoutout to Wizards of the Coast for giving me the opportunity to share this Reality Fracture Early Access event with all of you.

it doesn't matter since you drew surgical precision, but if you block with the 3/3 on your next turn you couldv'e picked up the memory trap and hit their yoshimaru and the guiding hydra just dies to state based actions

Says I'm playing GW lifegain, immediately passes every single titanbones, lifelink goul and phytomedic :)

@tanyushing2494 4 days ago

6:50 Cannot complain you have no lifegain when you passed the 1/1 lifelinker that enables all the lifegain cards for an unsummon...

@simjo1311 4 days ago

I am sorry Paul but i don't think you get to complain about missing payoffs if you pass all of them.
Is Titanbones great no but it sure is a lifegain payoff that gets huge, same with the Ajani's pridemate whos name i am blanking on right now.
I think you drafted great value cards with little synergie and then ended up getting bit in the ass for it.

38:59 the top deck solved everything but wasn’t it the safer play to chump with Insurgent, then pick up the Banishing Light (the 1/0 hydra dies) and lock up Yoshimaru?

Try and fail but never fail to try. Another great video! I love the exploration of the arc types.

Had both the green Garruk planeswalker and verdant kraken at my local prerelease. Got lucky with fixing and ran a jund build splashing red for removal and that 7/5 etb pick 2 modes creature. Went 3-0 for the first time! Thanks again for all the content, it definitely helped!

EDIT: I ran one copy of the budding insurgent and it won me a game, they memory trapped my kraken and I was able to get it back!

Deck looks sweet. Fib definitely knows the way

I actually saw that game with you and Kenji from both sides lol, it's in his video "This Is DEFINITELY The Way"

Wants to play GW lifegain and doesn't even look at Titanbones. Takes objectively worse 4-drops instead(so can't argue was for curve reasons). That feels like a very big miss. Didn't even mention it to say why you might think it's bad, just completely didn't see it despite being passed like 5 of them including on the 11th pick. And then complains about lack of lifegain payoffs. The kitesail as well, maybe not good enough to take, but definitely to consider.

Also both of these cards would have helped with your biggest problem which was fliers.

@SecularMentat 4 days ago

Yeah. The curve in this set feels like it peaks at like 3.5. Instead of 2.something.

I think the curves just end up higher on average.

Flyers pretty good

I think I would run the fateshaper over the 3rd fibblethip. It can loop with rescue girl as well as just being a strong value card

Lol the Pascal Maynard joke. I just watched that Rhystic Studies episode 😂

6:13 I think you should've taken the equipment here. It's one of the most consistent ways of enabling life gain for this archetype, and it works great with the 2 mana ajani's pridemate in this set

I think this draft was a pretty big learning experience, both for us watching and for you as the player. It felt like you moved away from the lifegain plan for a few picks and then started taking what looked like the strongest card in each pack, but the deck eventually lost a clear overall strategy.

In the end, you had a few lifegain pieces, but not quite enough to fully support that archetype, while some of the other cards felt a bit disconnected and did not have a huge impact on the deck either. I am definitely not as experienced as you are, but to me this draft just seemed to go a little off the rails during the middle picks.

Still, it was a really interesting draft to watch and probably a useful one to learn from. Nice video as always, keep up the content! O:)

~38 why chump with Rescue Girl and not any of the 3/3s so you can pick up the Memory Trap?

@josejavierdepazsanchez125 4 days ago

PoG

@aymanmz 3 days ago

38:41 You should not have blocked with rescue girl here. She could've picked up memory trap, let the hydra die due to having no counters, and reset yoshimaru
