Reality Fracture Is A Nonsense Format | Reality Fracture Draft | MTG Arena

This format is nonsense and I mean that in the best way possible. There is no shortage of ways to get value, mana fixing is plentiful, and the format feels slower than normal. This opens the door for putting together all kinds of ridiculous decks and I think I'm only scratching the surface of what's possible.

Ajani's Anguish can do the same thing multiply by zero does, even tho you would have to pay more mana for it and it's not instant speed. However, Ajani can kill a planeswalker and be a win condition and win you the game out of nowhere late in the match. I think I would rather have it in my deck, specially with the amount of removals you already had at that moment.

But that's just my opinion, you obviously know more about mtg than I do. Lol.

Wow that Gollum companion might be the most obnoxious thing ever.

The ajani’s anguish pack was very interesting given the quality of cards in the pack. There’s about 6 total cards in the format that can deal with an enchantment/permanent. Opponents are pretty likely to have more creature removal in limited. Thanks for the vids.

I'm always very happy to see ajani's anguish when drafting one of the red aggro decks (boros, konstrari, naya), as it can shoot a planeswalker as well as go face. And the trample is a nice lil bonus that can sometimes help me win the game. But I would never pick it on the splash, especially in a slower deck like yours in this video. Multiply by zero was def the right pick imho. Thanks for the videos btw, keep up the great work!

I have found rewrite regrets to WAY over perform primarily due to the land cyclers. If you are in any of the sultia colors it’s often just 4 mana for a huge land cycler. The best to reanimate is the Green one but the others are super nice and it curves really naturally with the turn 2 cycle and catches you up for the time/mana spent cycling.

The creature also protects the Jace which is nice.

Had a recent 3-0 6-1 doing this in Trad draft (had 3 rewrites + 2 cyclers and some self mill)

27:46 damn gollum is going THROUGH it after combat damage 😂😂

14:08 I agree with your pick here. The Fireball rare is a lot better if you can either recur it with a card like Rescue Girl, take advantage of the trample with fat creatures, or can benefit from hitting their face because your deck gets early damage well. I don't think any of those 3 conditions apply to your deck, so the solid removal spell just seems better, IMO.

It's early, but this is feeling like one of those you either love it or hate it formats, and I'm feeling the later. At least I've enjoyed watching it, keep the videos coming.

The only time I've had Ajani's Anguish in a deck so far, I had 2 Rescue Girls to recur it. In that particular situation, it's amazing. In a deck without that synergy, where it would be on the splash, though... I'm sure that it's still pretty good, but Divide by Zero is just sooo much more mana efficient.

As someone who has really only had enough time to run Pick 2 drafts in the morning, it was pretty good in MSH which I drafted a ton. I only did two drafts of the Hobbit, which was more an issue with that set. But Pick 2 is definitely way worse for this set because of the echoed pairs. The double Yargle packs are especially brutal. You are already pulling from a smaller number of packs and the variance between the best and worst tables is much greater than usual. Just a warning for other time constrained people out there.

@DrewLannin05 1 day ago

The same thing you described happened to me against a deck like that today. I had 6 removals and 2 fliers on board ready for lethal, but my opponent somehow just drew big creature after big creature repeatedly and a removal and I lost

@ddanielbeec 1 day ago

This is a 1.5 pieces of cardboard set. Every color pair has ways of drafting around cards that give value either when coming in (like the amount of creatures that put a token in GR) or surveil / empower Jace.

I had an amazing Gruul deck when almost all my creatures generated some sort of value and it was just incredible how much it could grind out games while still having aggressive starts.

I think the blue Yuriko would go very nicely with Loot, the Anomaly

@AP29_38 23 hours ago (edited)

I drafted Ajani's Anguish in a Grixis tempo deck and it was quite strong. Multiply is likely going to be better in that style of deck as it has a much higher floor. Anguish seems like a card you would most likely want to play in the RG decks.

@DemKookies 1 day ago

Ya'll, don't sleep on your (black) Gideons and Tiny's. The amount of passive DMG that black can produce (massacre girl too) can really swing a close game in your favor. There are a TON of really lowkey synergies floating around this format

@sebastiankarlsson9577 1 day ago

I think Heartwood crafter is going to be highly ranked, it's a little bit like the 1 green prepared ramp from strixhaven in that it accelerates you t2 as a t1 play, it can't mana fix as well of course, but the mana rock also comes in untapped and the following turns it keeps providing value. It's 5 mana on T3, while of course 1 of those manas are not for card from hand.

@i_noahdrunk7969 1 day ago

Oh man that Temur deck was eye candy to me. As far as your draft went I think you made very good picks given your seat. The only thing I can think of is you passed like 3 reanimation spells and a couple red Kioras. Maybe a self mill/reanimate package? Not sure how good that would've been. I'll have to try it one of these drafts. GGs!
