Sometimes I have a feeling like you Americans live on a different planet. Maybe even another solar system 😂

Nothing to watch??? You have the quarterfinals, the semis and the FINAL for crying out loud❤

I've never met someone who hadn't heard of Pele before 😅

Americans were saying the super bowl was bigger than the football world cup, turns out every world cup game is bigger than the super bowl.

Germany has been knocked out early in recent World Cups and European Championships, but we still watch always—always—every game until the very end and cheer for the winner—no matter where they’re from. That’s how it is for most countries, and that’s how it should be for the U.S., too, if they really want to play with the big boys someday.

USA being out and you not having anything left to watch, is a wild statement.
You never did have anything to watch. whats left are actually good teams.

To all americans. Welcome to earth 🌎

Zidane headbutted him, because he insulted his sister

Gordon Banks save against Pele at his best was probably the all time greatest save. The ball was almost certainly going in but Banks had other ideas. Pele, being the gentleman he was congratulated Banks. RIP gentlemen.

Many of us watch top class football for love of the game. Sure, if your country or team are playing that makes it much more exciting, but seeing the world's best players in action on a worldwide stage is great entertainment and a shared talking point among fans.

Doesn't know Zidane, doesn't know Maradona, doesn't know Pele, conflates Ronaldo with Cristiano Ronaldo...
How to say you're an American without saying you're an American... 🤣

There's a reason why we have a VAR (video assistant referee) these days, and goal line technology, and so on... 😅

Zidane's headbutt happened exactly 20 years ago today. Great timing.

Couldnt be a more stereotypical american out there

You have to know that in penaulty kick goalie has low (sometimes even none) chance to save properly conducted shot. So, all preasure is on shooter. He is expected to score. And that preasure makes him to miss sometimes. And sometimes that miss costs big.

The Zidane headbutt was so impactful because it was the final match to win the world cup, he was one of the greatest players to ever play the game and it was his final appearance. What a way to end your career

I can’t believe someone would say there’s nothing left to watch in the wc just because their country was knocked out!

The hand of God was against England in the quarter-finals. We were robbed but didn’t ask our PM or King to overturn it.

Costa Rica against Netherlands in 2014... that was the highest position ever for Costa Rica. People were wildly celebrating and the team was received home as heroes. First goal ever by Costa Rica in 1990 against Scotland and winning the match. The celebrating in the neighbourhoods sounded properly crazy and so freaking loud.

The "Battle of Nuremberg" is the famous nickname for the chaotic 2006 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match between Portugal and the Netherlands, played on June 25, 2006, at the Frankenstadion. Russian referee Valentin Ivanov issued a World Cup record 16 yellow cards and 4 red cards, making it the most card-heavy match in any FIFA-administered international tournament history. Portugal won the match 1–0.
