Fantastic to hear Richie Benaud's voice again.  A cricket broadcasting giant.

Fred and Richie...two absolute legends there. Not only great players but great broadcasters...

Richie and Fred....2 great people  !

Firey Fred always remembered for speed and wit, RIP.

Sitting with my dad as a little girl watching Freddie Truman, started my interest in cricket.

Grew up listening to Richie Benaud & Fred Truman.

Simply the greatest fast bowler England has ever produced.

Fred had the greatest bowling action of any bowler

The first Australian touring side that I saw was the 1964 team, Bill Lawry was the captain, Wally Grout the wicket keeper. I can never forget seeing them, playing against FST . Years later I was in the company of Fiery Fred, FST when a guest speaker at an event and he was blunt, to the point . What a pleasure listening to Richie Benaud, along with Brian Johnston and John Arlott on test match special radio, too. FST was correct, Cricket is the finest game ever invented.

I learned so much by listening to Fred on TMS
Great bloke
One of the best bowlers of all time

There will never be another like him. Great England fast bowler who was genuinely respected by the Australians.

Great bowler......entertainer....funny man...

First class bloke.

Freddy Truman, replying to a remark on the size of his arse as he ran up to bowl. "When you've got a big nail, you need a big hammer to drive it!"

I had the honor of working at Bolton Abbey for Fred's funeral, Security. Met some Legends that day.

I had the pleasure of playing against Fred, and getting him out to one which came back and had him LBW. As he walked by me, he said, "I hit that!" I replied, "Check with the ump, Fred". We ended post game with a Fred recollection speech. My skipper was an Aussie, who Fred described as the most balanced Aussie he had met, a bloke with a chip on both shoulders🙂. Great cricketer and character. Hope you are still marking your run up out Fred, where ever you are now 👍

Always a pleasure to listen to the late great Richie Benaud. His commentary skill was top class, and he could be very entertaining too. A true legend of the game that is much missed. RIP Richie

WI fan here, Fred and Brian were legends!
Proper legends of the game.
Loved those days.

My favourite quote from Fred Trueman was when the marriage of his daughter and Raquel Welch’s son ended in divorce, he said “That marriage didn't last as long as my run-up"!

Fred Truman I watched at Lord's in the 60's. I saw his 300th test wicket on TV. As it happened. Miraculous considering they never played anywhere near as many Tests as they do today. I remember when in the six week boat trip to Aussie in the 1950's to play in the test matches. Gordon Pirie had the team running around the deck to get fit. Freddy told him to stick it and refused. In his Yorkshire accent he said, " after six months playing non stop cricket in England, I'm fit, so truck off. I need to rest".;That was Mr Truman. I modelled my bowling style on his, I didn't do too badly either. Rough, tough, unremitting but honest. He's the type of man who made Britain great!
