Speaking as a 'mature' sewist, this kind of detail is what I love, particularly the after a couple of months review

Tissue fitting was around many decades before Palmer and Pletsch.  I learned it from my grandmother in the early 1960s and it wasn't new then either.  It was a common practice about as long as there were tissue patterns.

Yes! We want to hear all of these details. We all have to make these choices and it’s very helpful to hear your thought process. So thank you for including all of it.

lol I started sewing at 6 when my Aunt decided I needed something to keep me busy on a rainy day in 1971. My mom couldn’t afford patterns so a neighbor taught me how to make patterns with paper bags when I was 8 by making doll clothes and eventually clothes for myself. My Dad started sewing very young too along with his brother because his mom made quilts and stuffed animals. They hand stitched everything. I almost always have a sewing bag/box with me if I know I’ll be away from home for a few hours. Best hobby ever aside from gardening which I learned from my grandfather.

this is all the stuff I overthink - particularly "ugh am I really going to underline this fabric?" so it's fun to see your thought process.

This was interesting and beautiful to watch on multiple levels. I loved the process and background approach. Yes please share your thoughts and sewing anything. Aesthetically this was a treat, with the natural light, fabric choices, timelapse video and little notes. Above all your respect for what another pattern maker has created and offers is the magic glue that feels good and makes me want to learn with you.

I enjoyed the level of detail and hearing the decision making process is useful for my own sewing. Pants look great and I'm looking forward to part 2!

I am always on the hunt for good sewing and knitting videos. I can’t remember ever enjoying a video more than I enjoyed this one. I just really like your presentation style. You exercise superb judgement about what to include and what to leave out. I really appreciate knowing your thought process prior to making choices, for example. I love that you sat down to talk about making an alteration and instead wound up jumping up and doing the alteration immediately. Such a great example of just getting ‘er done instead of accumulating little tasks to do “someday “. I own quite a few of Pamela‘s patterns and have never found a better elastic than her fantastic elastic. I ordered five of those little green 6 inch rulers (like the one you used ) from her last time I placed an order. They are so useful. I was always tempted to try her pants pattern, but it was pretty expensive if I recall. Now that you demonstrated it, I’m inspired to try it myself. And of course I’m heading right over to your website to become acquainted with your patterns. So happy to have met you today and I’ll see you next time, since I’m now a subscriber.
Oh, before I go, I must ask you… What is that weird machine you used to sew your pants? The machine with the cones of orange or red thread nearby. I have never seen such a thing before.

This was great.  I just took a 3 part Heirloom sewing class with Pamela. She has a great teaching style.  I also love her secret sleeves pattern. Needless to say, I am also a big fan of your Magic Pants.
