This Seat Toledo V5 has lived quite a life. After more than 20 years on the road, more than one questionable repair and a few pretty serious problems, putting the entire car back together just doesn't make much sense anymore.

But there's one part of it that's definitely worth saving: the 2.3-litre V5.

So in this video, Pascal and I pull the engine and gearbox out of the Toledo, find a few interesting problems along the way, and somehow manage to squeeze the V5 out of an engine bay that really doesn't want to let it go.

The Toledo might be done, but hopefully this isn't the end of its engine. Now we just need to figure out what car it should end up in...

2.3 V5 project idea: Find a 1990s hatchback and put the motor in the rear of the car to make a RWD V5 Hatchback? Like the Clio V6? Would be a lot of work, but it would be amazing

Hi Joy, hi Pascal,the HumbleMechanic did a 2.3 V5 swap in a VW Lupo and it sounded awesome. But I’m from The Netherlands too and I know it’s a pain in the @ss to get this registered. What's funny is that this engine came in a transverse (VW Golf IV, Bora, Seat Leon, Toledo) and a longitudinal variant (Passat B5), because the latter was Audi A4 based.

Dat pompje is een secundaire luchtpomp" wordt gebruikt tijdens koude start om schadelijke uitlaatgassen te voorkomen. Dan warmt de katalysator sneller op.
