Last episode, we bought a Ford Focus ST with a blown engine and completely tore it apart to find out what went wrong. After discovering severe bearing damage, it was clear there was only one option left: a full engine rebuild.

In this episode, we start putting everything back together. The cylinder head gets rebuilt, the short block gets assembled with parts from a donor engine, and we tackle one of the most important jobs of the entire project: rebuilding the heart of this 309 horsepower Focus ST.

Will everything go according to plan? And can we actually save this engine?

You folks did a great job on the engine. Thank you for a nice video. In the US the Focus ST got a different four cylinder turbo engine that has a reputation for blowing head gaskets. So you folks in Europe got the better version of the car.

Just had my Focus ST MK2 suffer bearing failure, same as what you found. 146,000km and 16 years of ownership - it was time to move on, but will miss the beautiful sounds of the 5 pot!

If I had engine building skills (and all the tools that go along with engine removal/install) I’d certainly be looking to save it myself!

Great video and can’t wait to see it all finished ❤
