I'm more fascinated by kind people, who are kind despite of their past traumas, than by bullies who use their trauma to justify their violence. Both in real life and in fiction.

"Pomni, you are the best thing that happened to me" said by Ragatha.  Who got abandoned day 1 of Pomni's arrival, treated Pomni like a child throughout the show, and barely interacted with her throughout the rest of the series.

Ragatha had more conversations with Kinger than she did with Pomni.

yeah, it was so weird that jax became a main character when the pilot made us think it was an ensemble show. maybe if the show was like five episodes longer it would be better.

There are two things I didn't like about TADC.

One, episode 1-4 actually focused on having a crises being stuck in a fake digital world. But then after episode 5 the whole show became the Jax show and just focused on trauma.

And two, I didn't like how they all reacted in the finale when they realized they were just mind files. I feel like, gummigoo had a more realistic reaction in episode 2 when he realized he was an npc than the rest of the cast in the finale.

No, she is not.

Ragatha wasnt even just overshadowed by Jax in ep 5, she wasnt even sharing the limelight. From what I remember, ALL of Ragatha's scenes were there to further Jax's character, NOT Ragatha.

When Ragatha is talking to Jax and Pomni during the stargazing scene, her "not anymore" comment is there for the audience to wonder what Jax's expression to that comment means.

In the bar, when Ragatha brings up her mother, the camera switches to Jax, who glances down at his cup. This scene isnt about Ragatha, its about Jax; the audience is meant to be wondering, again, what Jax's reaction means (at first I thought it implied some sort of history with Ragatha, but after the finale I know that it was there to hint at HIS mother issues. It didnt have anything to do with Ragatha).

Then later during the softball game, after Ragatha snaps at Jax, she apologizes for "bringing up that thing earlier." Then, again, Jax has an expression, and, again, its for the audience to wonder what Jax's reaction is about.

The only scenes that I feel like are more about her in this episode are the little scenes at the end that show her feeling left behind. But even then, they're still a bit about Jax and Pomni.

With every one of the major "Ragatha" scenes in ep 5 ("Ragatha's episode") the real emphasis is on Jax. Ragatha isnt even just overshadowed or sharing the episode with Jax. Ragatha is basically nothing but a plot device used to further Jax in what was supposedly her episode.

Gangle got really sidelined in the finale.

I thought Ragatha would also be a main character because of how she and Jax seemed foils in the pilot, but instead it turned out to be all about Jax.

as much as i like Ragatha and a good story, Jax essentially hijacking her episode in particular feels like the most hilariously meta in-character thing I've seen happen from him. XD

Jax having more lines isn’t even the core issue imho. The “character centered” episodes mostly boil down to each character dumping their lore/trauma, only for the story to do almost nothing with it afterward.

Jax may have gotten more screen time, but even he didn’t receive a cathartic character arc in the finale. The show introduces a character, explains why they act the way they do, and asks the audience to understand or accept them... but that’s where it stops. Makes for pretty stagnant storytelling.

It’s wild that Jax, a side character, has more voice lines than the actual main character.

Every episode should have focused on one specific character, like Gooseworx said it would. Instead, we mostly got The Jax Show, with him being a horrible person to everyone around him just because he's traumatized, even though they likely would have accepted him for who he is if he had let them.
