Working in this factory must have been an absolute nightmare, not just because of the horrifying experiments, but because of all the puzzles needed to get this place to function.
While I do love Miss Gracie as Lily Lovebraids, and the idea of her being tortured using the same methods she once used. I’m unhappy that if she would be cut from the game NOTHING would change. If she had been shown earlier, even back in Chapter 4, the impact would have been much stronger.
imagine having forgoten your phone in another room at the factory and then having to spend 6 hours doing 385 puzzles that involve carrying 17 different hand just to find out if was in your pocket the whole time
what i also love about lily (that i’ve seen someone else point out on tiktok) is the irony with gracie talking about being all warm and fuzzy as a toy and being able to hug/comfort yourself, only for her to be turned into a toy made of plastic
One of the themes of this series I don't see many people talking about is how adults appropriate childhood in order to prey on children. Gracie is the poster girl for that notion.
Something that has always bothered me about Poppy Playtime is how they introduce a new character every chapter, only for them to be killed off, sometimes in the first few minutes of them being onscreen. I mean, I can't get emotionally attached to tge characters because they die before we get to learn much about them and who they are.
I like the idea of The Doctor, a mad scientist who committed a heinous act and got punished, but if he gets redeemed in Chapter 6 then that could completely ruin his character
As much as I love this series as a newcomer, there's one glaring problem that no one has pointed out. Playtime Co is losing money and going broke, so their bright idea is to spend possibly millions on researchers, scientists, industrial equipment you won't find in a regular toy factory, possibly buy orphans out and into their company, to make them into giant toys that possibly took months or years to completely transition. Do you know how much money that would have cost? And Playtime's excuse is because they're losing money...
It's a real death by a thousand cuts when it comes to Poppy Playtime because there are positives... but man... Convoluted storytelling and level design, mismanaged and underused characters that die in the same chapter they're introduced, and so. many. puzzles.
33:32 as someone who loves puzzles another problem with them is that they’re not fun. Most of the time you can figure out what you’re supposed to do, but it’s so tedious to do it
Me watching as the game introduces Lily who quickly becomes one of my favorite characters and sets her up to be burned alive and she effectively does nothing and is probably dead to fall damage despite her being almost amazing 🙏😭
Them always introducing characters and immediately killing them off not only leads to me having absolutely zero investment or interest in their backstory or role in the overall story, I think it takes away from the main characters getting any development. After five chapters, I still don't feel invested in a single character, and I don't see why I should care if any of them live or die, or succeed or fail.
Another thing, not only we are reaching the core of the earth atp, but HOW has no one investigated the thousands of orfans that died for years without any explanation, but the probably hundreds of people that died in the Hour of Joy, in the exact same day, hour and place??
