Short but sweet. This video took me back a few decades (1980's) to remind me how a small group of us Radio Amateurs banded together as the New Zealand Motorola Users Group. We built 6800 and 68000 based computers, coded our own Bootstrap and BIOS systems, designed our own modems (both phone and radio) and built a BBS to tie it all together. Thems were the days ... and it's good to hear that there are small groups of people like you still out there promoting, advocating and maintaining the ethos. Excellent; time well spent!

Excellent video. About a year ago I got a WiFi modem and a Commstar ROM for my BBC Micro, and have been logging on to a BBS called nightowl. Hosted by a guy in the UK, using a BBC Master. Very rewarding.

Very nice overview of BBSs. I flirted with them at the very tail end of the 90s but quickly migrated to the internet. I realise that the C64U is the sexy new machine right now, but a reminder that other retro machines can go online too, like the Spectrum Next.

Truly a trip down memory lane, as the first time I went online, was on a C64 with a 300 baud modem, connecting to a BBS.
Need to find an rs232-wifi adapter for my old IBM PS/1 now...

I use the Ethernet port on my Commodore 64 Ultimate and configured the IP address. Then I ran the configuration for CCMS and I started calling BBSs. I got all that working when I got my Commodore 64 Ultimate in last week Friday. I love it!! Just like old times!

Good video! When I got my Ultimate II+ cart a while back, one of the first things I did was connect to a BBS... Particles is definitely one of my favourites.
