I'm glad someone else said it about Durag Man. He seemed like a silly character you would find in black sitcoms so I didn't find anything inherently offensive about it. Also because I don't see durags as anything to look down on, or be offended by. It's just an article of clothing associated with the black aesthetic/style.

Completely disagree with your take on Captain Durag. The creator of that character was extremely anti black American and also generally said many negative things about black men. The problem with this is he is clearly a caricature created with with ill intent. Saying Black people dislike this because of respectability politics is inaccurate.

Green arrow is  screaming in the background cause he doesn’t want to be associated

In all respect, Captain Underpants was not  selling in the black community and I was a reader. More people were into Shonen Jump instead Captain Underpants.
2nd Camille Corbett said very disparaging and degrading things about black americans. So she's a anti-black Jamaicans profiting off of American black cultural and stereotypes, and no it's not comedic like the Wayans brothers. Disney release this show knowing it was going to cause a problem black history month after we already went through putting Disney in their place after the boycott Disney plus and Hulu last year. Everything else in the video was on point, but it's not about respectability politics it's about letting people know that our black American culture is different from others from the diaspora and we should not be lumped all together as one. Camille was the one who said we have no culture. She sunk her own ship

I mean, Tubi is full of weird movies

I fucking LOVE Iyanu.  The art is breathtaking and the story is so fun.

I agree with everything but captain durag. I think him being a garbage man, fighting in “slime city” and not having an ability that pertains to a durag is really LAME, but I still enjoyed the video

Idk about that I'd say it's generelly agreed the boondocks is like both the best written and drawn American adult cartoon

Thanks for taking the time to make this video, you've gained my patronage.

Clearly argued and rich with detail. Excellent. As always. ❤🎉

13:26 was a crazy read ngl

Great video Cova as always bro 👏👏👏

I needed this, as a black creator i sometimes feel like aim fighting an uphill battle… I almost quit a few times…

The Captain Durag vs. Captain Underpants point had me rolling. Great point.

15:50 - I would recommend looking into the creator’s own words. Her commentary on TikTok was what mainly got her into trouble. I’m sure people got upset about this character off-rip though.

I love seeing your confidence as a creator as you make more videos. The quality was already good but they just keep getting better, love your commentary.

16:27 don't now slander my boy Carlton!!

Lol at comic explained guy in thumbnail

Another great video. Thanks for introducing me to Brotherman, and convincing me to check out Iyanu.
