Funny that the birthday cake had to be changed in the era where companies have all of our personal info and you have to log in to your profile to access your games

Personally I think the Belmont summon is such a strange addition. Technically not an item, but seeing Charlotte and Jonathan summoning jpgs of Belmonts is just funny to me

It's an Engagement Ring!  It helps in engagements with the enemy.

Beartank is from Rakugakids. N64 konami fighting game. So its konami easter egg

I love seeing these sorts of items in games, because they only exist because the developers loved what they were making and had fun with it.

15:30 the terror bear is actually the best weapon to farm iron golems. as almost everything deals 1 damage to it, dealing 1 damage like 10 times in a single attack is really fast, especially with the imp soul.

The L. Eye of God has had at least one confirmed practical use: It has been used to confirm that Wallman does not die on hitting 0 HP.

the moai sells for 5730 and heals for 573 (japanese numberplay for "konami")

To add to the weirdness of the engagement ring in PoR, there are also veils and a wedding dress for Charlotte

The sword of dawn is fun because you can absolutely mash that special and just summon non-stop, not just standing and summoning one guy and waiting

Duplicator needs to be in more games it's such a fun thing

Surprised you didn’t mention the cream pie in POR, I remember being so confused as a kid when I looked up the best way to defeat richter

Honestly, all of the furniture from HoD could fit this list. I dunno, it just feels odd that while Juste is fighting for his life against the forces of darkness to save Lydie, he's making time to collect and fully furnish a room in Dracula's castle

9:34 This definitely feels like they coded the equivalent of Bat Form for Juste, and it didn't fit into the gameplay well but was too interesting to delete.

Oh! You CAN kill Red Skeletons in Curse of Darkness! One of the ID can do it! It's even a puzzle!

So when I was in high school, a friend of mine who also owned Dawn of Sorrow clued me in to something I had never considered with regards to the Terror Bear. The many hit it lands makes it an ideal weapon for farming the Iron Golem Soul. Typically one of us would roll into the room, jump and swing the bear, land, swing again, backdash cancel for another swing and then launch a special to dash in. This turned Iron Golem from a slog into a relatively quick trip.

24:45 Okay, but those recolors are sick though? Especially the Jonathan one. Would absolutely play PoR with that recolor, it just looks cool as hell. And then the Charlotte one gives off holy mage vibes that suit her pretty well.

The jewel sword is also a drop from the Discus Lord, so you'd eventually find it without that secret room anyway.

The first time I watched Puss in Boots Last Wish, the Excalibur scene immediately reminded me of Aria of Sorrow.

I'm pretty sure the reason you can't acquire Yoko's staff in DoS is because I think it is actually the Bare Knuckles weapon (which is separate from unequipping your weapon), which you can get with the succubus/cutall glitch along with the Alucard Sword, the whip, and their bullet soul spells. Her staff is part of her sprites.

I think it's worth mentioning the Konami easter egg items in the DS games. Useless in DoS, permanent stat upgrades in PoR and OoE. Edible in randomizers (sometimes).

The Secret Boots drove me crazy when I first played it. I thought they had to do something! Like there had to be a use. And I just thought I couldn't figure it out. Tried everything I could think of, but I never found anything.

Sadly I didn't realize they make Alucard's sprite slightly taller. Not until I finally looked it up
