Meal prep doesn’t have to mean spending your entire Sunday filling dozens of identical containers. In this video, I’m sharing my realistic weekend meal prep routine—preparing useful building blocks that make cooking during a busy week faster and easier.
I’m using my Thermomix TM7 for much of the prep, but you absolutely do NOT need a Thermomix to make any of these things. I’ll share conventional alternatives along the way using equipment you probably already have in your kitchen.
My approach to meal prep is simple: I don’t necessarily want to prepare every meal for the week in advance. Instead, I prep the things that make it much easier to put a fresh meal together when I’m tired, busy, or simply don’t feel like cooking.
And I try to use what I already have—fresh herbs from the garden, vegetables that need to be used, leftovers and ingredients hiding in the refrigerator—rather than buying an entirely new grocery haul just for meal prep.
In Part 1 of my weekend prep, I’m making a selection of useful staples, snacks and meal components that I can use throughout the coming week or freeze for later.
Whether you own a Thermomix, are considering one, or cook completely traditionally, I hope this gives you a few ideas for making your own week a little easier.
