What’s utterly shocking here (apart from the fact that it proves Macallister is utter shite) is the number of people who see nothing wrong in using and abusing a tool to the point of destruction, then returning it to b&q for a refund!

I'd definitely take all of the pallets. I would try to repair every single one of the tools and batteries.

The date on the blue label isn't 2015.. it's 20/5 (20th May). We don't use the year on the labels as our stuff shifts so quickly

I would love to see a proper return pallet processing, done by someone who knows how tools work and how to fix them, there was a ton of waste is this and most return pallet videos I have seen.

I heard about people buying tools to do a job and then returning them after the job to get a refund. But that can't be true since regular folks are honest and have integrity.

Honestly it feels like a lot of builders and tradesman use these cheap diy tools for 50 hours a week for 2-3 months, burn them out and then return them under the false pretence that they were just typical DIYers 😂

Thanks for posting this and its actually refreshing to see it not work out....I know it doesn't help you and the £1000, however you see so many times people saying "make a killing". I would say that those boxes have been gone through and the best bits taken..... I'm guessing you won't be having anymore B&Q pallets 🙂

If I ever need to return something I go out of my way to package it up so it is like new but the way some people return stuff is shocking! It is also shocking that people return an extension lead just because a fuse went.... jeez! That must have been a nightmare day finding so much of it was broken. Hopefully you can get something good back on WhatNot Monday 😁

I used to work in a similar DIY store to B&Q. We would sometimes get people buying tools, using them, and then bringing them back for a refund rather than just hiring the tool from a hire shop. I was near the customer service desk one day when a customer returned a sander that had "stopped working." The girl behind the desk was about to give a full refund when I intervened and decided to check the tool suggesting that maybe the fuse had gone. It had. Literally. I put a fuse in it and handed it back to the customer, stating that it was now working. At least he got a free fuse out of it.

I owned a hire and repair shop. Guys in B&Q sold me some returns they had been told to crush. I lost money on the deal. I hired industrial angle grinders, but cowboy builders would buy home user ones from B&Q and return them when they were burnt out by overuse. All the tools you show are cheap rubbish. I know because I have taken them down and know what is inside them. I am 78 now, and I still have Black & Decker tools that I bought over 50 years ago when they made quality machines.
