Also I meant to add you were struggling with the machine because the wheels were too close together if you space the wheels out a little bit more so that the platform is steady you'll still be able to wheel it around the shop you got to give yourself a good base when you're breaking the tires otherwise it's going to dance around like it was.
it's important that after you break the tire and you put it on the machine and you go to take the tire off the rim you have to push the tire into the drop on the rim it helps it come off easier. Also when you're putting it back together and you lube it up you should be able to push the first part of the tire onto the rim without using the machine to put it on the rim that will increase the speed that you're using to put the tire back together other than that you're doing a good job
Instead of using the c-channel as a counterweight put them on the bottom of the frame with the extra length on heavy side and then install the casters in the c-channel. To keep clearance for the bead breaker arm might require a little more fab work but looks doable from here, not sure what I’m not seeing that could cause a problem with that And use locking casters to hold it steady. You could also add a couple threaded stabilizers with rubber boots to run down against the concrete for holding it in place. Great video man thanks
My tips are first get rid of your shiny new castors and bolt the thing down! you will find it so much easier. Second, use tyre lube on the old tyre you are removing. Old or new rubber grips, thats why tyres are made of it. You need slip when fitting or removing. Use lube in both processes.
I saw a guy break the bead by putting a shovel on the tire and then stand on the shovel and the bead separated quicker than using the machine. That machine is awesome I need one like that.
Love the video. Helped me decide to purchase. But, I believe you have an arm upside-down. It puts that black locking swing arm in the way when using the bead bar. I'd love to see you swap that and see if it works smoother. Thanks for helping with the decision to buy one.
I think you made a good purchase, even upgraded it to operate much better, and educated us all on a good product that we were considering purchasing. I personally think those wheels are killing you, that machine should probably be bolted down. I can’t wait to see what other great videos you have! If your other videos are anything like your intro I want to see them all.
Nice. I've come so close to pulling the trigger on buying this but the price keeps fluctuating so I'll hang on till I think it's as low as it's gonna go. I've watched many on this tire machine over the last week and this was one of the most well done, Thank you
couple of things folks might not know, you can rotate the tire in both directions, just choose left side holes or right side to change rotation. Also those tightening levers if you pull on them you can freely rotate them out of your way when using the breaker bar.
Nice mods, but I don't like how unstable it is with the casters, instead I will weld some angle iron in place of the casters and bolt it down through the concrete in an out of the way spot.
