Weiss are a highy-regarded brand in the audio recording (and especially, the mastering) industry.
Keep-up the excellent work, Professor!

I had the Berkeley Alpha USB 2. The best DDC I’ve owned, but it’s not cheap

Having an option to convert everything to DSD would be a killer feature for the Weiss... I don't know why they didn't implement it. 😩

This costs nearly the same as a Denafrips Venus 15th DAC and the accompanying 1.5 amp PSU costs more than the Denafrips DAC.

Even with a ddc choosing a high quality USB in is essential. I quickly found out even with a ddc USB audio from PC remains infinitely inferior to a player

The prices on ddcs are crazy high. I have a $70 smsl ddc for toslink optical for my pc setup and I'm good to go. Rather spend my money on tubes or different headphones.

What happens if you connect them to a "normal" 400 USD DAC..... doe s it even matter then... Because many DACs have some Jitter effects and I am in doubt which DAC that will mess up the signal, and which will "take the signal" from the DDC clean without too much resampling and upsampling..

Try adding together a little Ian Canada DDC

Thanks for the review. If you have SPIF DAC
and buy the Weiss DAC204, don’t you get the best of both worlds? Thanks again

@WaveTheory … was there ever any need to volume match during your A/B testing? The existence of the ability of the Weiss to modulate volume raises a red flag in my mind regarding bit-perfectness.

I'm confused, I thought DDC also has the task of cleaning the signal. But when the input signal is bad, the output is also bad and the result is almost the same? But when the input signal is good, Then the output signal of expensive DDC will be better than cheap ddc? Why?
