The Office is more popular than ever. In between the funniest moments, there's a TON of theories, easter eggs, and behind the scenes details out there. From Toby being the Scranton Strangler, to Pam's painting getting ruined, to 'Fire Drill's' CPR saving irl lives, to some more disturbing details. Even if you're the biggest fan ever, there's definitely something in here you don't know.
Big thanks to The Office Ladies podcast with Jenna Fischer & Angela Kinsey and The Office Deep Dive with Brian Baumgartner for a lot of the info in this video.
(This video started because I had the theme song stuck in my head for a week)

What's something that you know that wasn't mentioned here? 🤔
Years later, got copyright strikes so had to cut out certain scenes smh

Edits:
Forgot to credit Stephen Merchant as co creator of the British Office.
I don't think "That's what she said" came from The Office. I'm a zoomer and my generation pretty much associates it with the show since it peaked in popularity as we were growing up.
Thank you to everyone bringing to my attention how Asperger's is an outdated term.

Can we also talk about how Pam said no to marrying Roy by saying “I don’t want to get married on a boat, and my parents aren’t here” and then she married Jim on a boat without her parents there 🥲

@multiversomental6893 3 years ago

Another interesting one is about Charles asking Jim for a rundown. I read that sometimes bosses require a rundown of an employee’s clients when they are about to fire them

Better theory for Andy’s parents: he hired actors when he proposed because his real parents didn’t want to come

@darkavril4643 2 years ago

Oh how fast I would leave watching the show if Jim cheated on Pam. John was so right about that and I'm thankful that they didn't turn this show into some cheap drama and instead showed how relationships can be hard at times but you can overcome that.

Raine auditioning for Michael but getting the Assistant to the Regional Manager position is hilarious

@dubleCC 10 months ago

5:44 Not to mention how Toby managed to jump over the locked gate during that ONE episode where everyone stayed worked overtime at the office (not the "Dinner Party" episode).

@kanyepepper9977 3 years ago (edited)

The fact that John Krasinksi was so appalled and resistant to the storyline of Jim cheating with Cathy warms my heart. Actors legitimately caring about the state of their characters and stories is harder to come by these days. Fantastic video

@chiarascotti1033 2 years ago

Ed Helms was supposed to leave after his character was sent to anger management but the writers loved his improv skills so much that they pushed to keep him on the show

17:23 I feel like Michael would be the type to lie about eating ramen in college cause he’s lied to seem cool in the past

8:50 I met Rainn Wilson at a con two years ago, and I asked him about this and he told me that Steve didn’t know because they had given him an altered script, so it was actually a surprise to Steve there.

@lucygarrett9785 3 years ago

There was a deleted scene where Jim called Pam and told her about Kathy’s advances and they both laughed over it.
I wish they kept that in

@SourRazberry 3 years ago

Imagine being such a good actor that you unknowingly tell the executive producer of the show you’re auditioning for that you’re scared they’re gonna ruin the show and they still hire you 🤣 plus, him and Jenna having such great acting chemistry that they both immediately asked if they got the part? Brilliant!!

One of the theories that I like is that Angela herself killed spinkles (her cat), when Angela shows the photos of her cat, she is seen feeding him grapes and coffee, both foods are toxic to cats, so In simple words, she killed her cat with the food she gave it..

Something interesting I like to share with people is that the office actually reached out to companies/popular places in Scranton, PA to use in the background of scenes. I am actually from Scranton and can point out a few things that are genuinely real about the show. As you mentioned, the intro footage is actually footage of Scranton. Unfortunately, the Dunder Mifflin building in real life looks nothing like the one in the show, and actually looks quite abandoned nowadays.

If you look behind Pam at the grey divider between reception and accounting, there is a purple and white checkered "blanket" hanging. That is a blanket from the University of Scranton. On the fridge, there is usually a lot of Scranton themed magnets from various places around Scranton. They also sometimes have a Happenings Magazine in the break area, which is a local magazine. In the episode "Goodbye Toby," Kevin sees Jan in a Gerrity's supermarket, which is a local supermarket chain. There is actually an Alfredo's Pizza -- but there isn't a "Pizza by Alfredo's." There are many cool easter eggs like these, but that is what I could think of off the top of my head!

The copier being chained to the wall is by far my favorite Easter egg

The way that Jim tries to drag Micheal out of the Koi Pond makes me giggle

@MrGabbs-ng8du 3 years ago

In Booz Cruise, Pam and Roy could’ve gotten married on the boat by the captain. Jim and Pam actually get married on a boat by the captain.

I’m really disappointed no one has listed Creed as a Scranton Strangler suspect. The guy showed up to work splattered in blood (coincidentally on Halloween), was a cult leader, and assumed he was getting arrested when the cops showed up for a narcotics tip. He also stole Creed Bratton’s identity (and possibly murdered him).
I personally think the Toby theory is weak.

@peggyfillmore1971 3 years ago

Creed actually was an accident ,he wasn't supposed to have a talking role ,they accidently gave him a talking script so they had to pay him ,the rest is history...this was confirmed on the the office ladies podcast
