This is invaluable information to a guy who is looking at this same surgery before too long. I'm a retired L.E Firearms Instructor, but I still teach/shoot some, so hearing this from someone of your skill level is certainly appreciated! THANK YOU so very much for taking the time to present this in such detail! Well done! š
At 65 I'm gonna keep my glasses. I still shoot pretty darn good. In fact it's one of the things I'm really good at. Glad to see you're still around Paul too many old timers are gone. Nous Defions
Great info. I know my mortal candle was running low when I had to had readers ala' like Fred Sanford all over my house. Happy belated Thanksgiving Paul. God Bless!
This randomly appeared in my recommended and played. Im glad it did. we are probably about the same age, and my house is full of readers in various powers for whatever im doing. I didnt know all that was possible with eyes! Maybe I can get back to the clear vision I once had. using irons on a sidearm I can either see the sights clearly with glasses and aim at a blur, or take them off and the target ia clear, but now the best I can do is point at it. cant see the sights at all
Thanks for the info Paul. I just turned 61 but had cataract surgery about 6 years ago. They had to laser some scar tissue within a year. My right eye that I had the surgery on is not quite where I would like it to be but I am dealing with it. That eye still likes to water up a bit in the earlier part of the day and distance focus deminishes as the day goes on. I guess I will try to see the doctor again in the future.
I started needing glasses after 40 and Iām 62 now. I havenāt managed to get used to glasses yet. When moving around quickly, like running range drills I get a bit disoriented due to the progressive lens setup. Right now and for the past several years Iāve been settled on contacts for distance and readers for that stuff. At one point, I even took a Ring gun into an eye appointment trying to get the contacts dialed in for the front sight, but at the expense of distance. Anyway, Iām going to give lazik some consideration if my eye doc brings it up at my next appointment.
My eyes had same problems, I was an exception iron sight shooter then one day I went to the range the next summer and couldnāt see the sight, I had a astigmatism in right eye. It was very disappointing. I had always wore contact lens with no issues, special contracts didnāt help at all.
LASIK recovery is only a day. Had it twenty years ago and highly recomment it. I did not know they were still doing implants; curious if those are better for certain age groups?
