And yet another new, old Honda! After a 41-year absence, the Japanese manufacturer is bringing the iconic Dax back to Europe, expanding its range of 125cc minibikes to three models. While the Grom can be considered a modern take and the Monkey is the beloved single-seater, the ST125 Dax is aimed at those who want to combine vintage styling with two-seat capability.

All three bikes – plus the C125 Super Cub with larger wheels – share the same engine: the air-cooled 124cc SOHC single with around 10 hp. Like the Super Cub, however, the ST125 Dax comes with a centrifugal clutch and a 4-speed gearbox, meaning there is no clutch lever.

All three bikes – plus the C125 Super Cub with larger wheels – share the same engine: the air-cooled 124cc SOHC single with around 10 hp. The frame, made of pressed sheet steel, is completely unique, replicating the historical model and creating the elongated silhouette that gives the bike its name: Dax, in this case, stands for dachshund. The robust construction also allows for the transport of two passengers. The pillion passenger will find a large, chrome grab handle at the rear.

Many details are borrowed from the Monkey: the LED headlight, LED taillight, LED turn signals, and the attractive LCD instrument cluster. Chrome handlebars, black rims, and high-quality covers and levers complete the look. The suspension consists of a 31 mm upside-down fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

The little Dax will be available in Austria from August of this year. The price will be €4,390, which is €200 more than the Monkey and €400 more than the Grom.
