This is a good post to remind  everyone, before doing Thais kind of adventure, to gain some confidence on tracks near home. The level of noobness and lack of phisycall preparation is óbvious. And if don t have camel back for water get One. Corajous man!

Some of the best lessons are usually taught through adveristy. Nice job grinding it out. You definitely came out the other side of that a better rider.

Also as someone who rides a lot of single track on an 890, once you start getting fatigued, it’s time to call it a day and head home.

I would first like to say hats off to ya for venturing out on the trail solo. It is a lot of hard work especially on a big bike like the Tenere. I can tell you are a beginner and would like to give you some tips. 1. Always stay in 1st gear on a tight, twisty, rough trail in the video here. Only when the trail begins to smooth out and open up should you pick up the pace. If you are being paid to go fast that's another thing. Then, when you were in the water you were going to slow. Practice balancing the bike without moving. Stand up on the pegs, kickstand up and try to go as slow as you can. (Not moving would be the result you're after.) Just try that at home before going out. Keeping a good balance and proper body weight position will get you through some of the worst terrain without dropping your bike. The goal is to never drop your bike ever. Just a few tips hopefully that helps you on the next video. I love trail riding and look forward to seeing you post more content.

1 st of all, Props to you for getting out there and out of your comfort zone! Then to film it, showing how things can go sideways so easy and putting yourself out there for everyone to see is great. Keep it up! time in the saddle is the best way to learn! glad you made it out safe. Keep having fun!

Thanks for posting. Just reminded me that if I'm riding alone to bring some rope and a ratchet strap.  Those two simple items can be a life saver.

Sheesh man that was gnarly! Really want one of these having spent a few hours off-road on a T7 and loved it. However always in the back of mind is a situation like this. Dual sports really make more sense for this stuff. Stay safe out there!

This was insane. Great reality check to always bring water even for short trips.I love the mid-size adv bikes because they do pretty good on the road and dirt, but when the trail gets rough, they are super heavy to get unstuck. Stay safe!

Being that tired is similar to being drunk, but then again if you were drunk, you wouldn't be dehydrated (till after obviously). WTF. Great vid, great honesty.

I know the feeling. I got lucky & got out of my situation too but was slightly injured. I wont ride off road alone anymore.

What a crazy situation. Glad you slowed down paced yourself and conserved what ever energy you could salvage to get you and your bike out of there. Plenty of lessons to be learned. We have all been there at some point. Keep on keeping on.

I really appreciate this posting. There are something to learn from this.

1. Take a break when you are tired regardless on or offroad.
2. These bikes are heavy even on a flat surface. Check that everything is clear before trying to lift the bike
3. When sending signals for help use the SOS pattern (...---...)
4. Consider to buy a PLB or Garmin InReach
