My daughter suggested Sassy Brassy for the quintet name.

That’s wild , I’m the same way 😅 I’ve been obsessed with trumpet lately. Made a lot of progress. It’s the same with all instruments I’ve learned. There must be a name for that type .

Thanks for sharing your experience with the trumpet Max. It's been 18 years since the last time I played a trumpet (after 5 years straight doing it), lately I feel the trumpet it's calling me again and the only thing I have is the mouthpiece, so in the meantime I get the instrument, I find very useful this kind of videos to get the best possible mindset to start over.

Must release a video of the whole piece!!! You played dreydl very well 🔥

I'm gonna start playing again since 2020 when I graduated HS, I've still been playing on my student horn which I know I should upgrade to a more professional level horn at some point but I gotta build up my embouchure and my muscles there again and also I kinda don't wanna let go of my first and beginner horn either, I know that seems weird but me and my horn have been through alot especially in high school during marching band season. I also need to take it in to one of my closest music stores to have looked at maybe cleaned, which I've always took care of it but it did have to get repaired one year during marching season and my director had no school horns available that they could lend me, but currently my tuning slide is like STUCK and I definitely gotta get a to a shop for that. I just subscribed to the channel, I had found you awhile back but finally going ahead and subbing because you make great videos dude and you are a great player!! Hope the Piccolo Trumpet is going well, I'd love to maybe learn flugel horn someday.

As someone trying to switch over from a reed instrument, it's a really strange adjustment but the advice on trying to find good vibration is awesome. It feels so amazing when I get something good started even if it's just a whole note and it sounds and feels beautiful.

I feel sometimes like this but I feel so terrible listening to all this because ive never let myself fall this far. Your situation is making me realize how terrible our world is.
I hope you get better man. I offer my sincerest sympathies.

There’s a trombone quartet called, “Maniacal Four”. They are brilliant especially in their original compositions.

My buddy Calvin had the best name for his jazz band EVER! "The Hugh Jazz Orchestra" 😂

Band name: schmoltzy vibes

That was really informative and helpful. Thank you. I have been learning major and minor scales which I enjoy…. And when I learn a new song with my teacher he teaches me a scale that helps with the notes in the tune. I’d live to learn from listening to a song… so hopefully one day I can learn y listening… although I do like learning how to read music… thanks again!

You helped me understand things I was doing wrong in my studies and to understand many others, thank you so much brother, I admire you a lot 🫂

I’m an Oboe player, and I keep trying to play Trumpet bc I got one 🥲🥲

I'm tired boss, playing with braces hurt😢

Name: The Metal Heads

You spoke about getting your head and chest to vibrate while playing but, you didn't quite say it. That is, your body and your instrument function as a team when you're playing. Yur chest especially, acts like a resonating chamber. It's almost as though together, you are a single instrument. I also like scales. Once you learn them, there are so many ways to paly with them. They're like a musical playground. I'm of the opinion that to get good at something which includes playing a musical instrument, you need to know your limits. Then, you need to keep trying to go beyond your limits. Keep chipping away at them. Establish new limits and then chip awy at them. Strive for excellence but, keep in mind that excellence isn't a destination. It's a journey.

I'm done (No, that's not a name. I mean, I'm done with names.)

You've graduated from college, right? What's in store for you now, in the long term? Graduate degrees? Being a band director at a small rural high school? I'd be interested in finding out.

I’m in a very frustrating position where I’m trying to fix pressure issues and other problems, but now I suck at my old way of playing and the new? I have an audition coming up and have been practicing every day, but this has been very frustrating

Hello brother, I want to ask a question, why does my tone sound airy and weak when I play, and the same happens when I blow into the mouthpiece. Many people say my abdomen is not exerting enough force and my air speed is insufficient. However, my air speed is already completely sufficient. Why has my tone not changed at all? Where is the problem?

Max. I recently took a trip for a week and could not take my trumpet. When I got back my embouchure  was wrecked. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep your embouchure fresh?
I’m a beginner (9 months) and have been watching your videos since I started playing. I’m glad I found your channel. My range right now is only low G sharp to almost getting to E consistently at the top of staff.
I’m also self teaching. I don’t have money for teachers unfortunately. I need help! Are there any books that can help me with expanding my range and also counting.

Hey Max I am going into my jr year of high school as section leader and I am going to have to make a hard transition. Our (marching) band is small, only 42 players, and I started on trombone and swapped to baritone last year because I wanted to do DCI. Our only 2 trumpets (Senior, Freshman) will be leaving next year because our freshman will be moving for sure next year. My band director said that she wants me to start practicing NOW to play lead trumpet next year. We will be getting 3 freshman trumpets but she doesn't trust them to play lead. I picked a trumpet up and can already play up to the C above the staff but it feels like my chest hurts from not being able to get as much air out at one time as I am used to on low brass. I was wondering if there was any specific tips/pointers you could give me?
