The body shaming for people with loose skin is so stupid

@Nero_Jero 4 months ago

When I told my friends I wanted to go back to school for physics, what I was actually doing was actively shaming all of them for not seeking a physics degree. That's how that works.

at this point, I think they don’t know what “systemic” means. one manager at some business saying he doesn’t wanna hire fat people is rude, but it’s not systemic. thats just him.

@pasaniusventris4113 4 months ago

It is so heartless to use addicts as a point of comparison. Those people are struggling with something they really should understand, but they're looking down their nose at them, it's really, really sad. They're at a horribly low point in their lives and being used as a punchline... they really don't see addicts as people and it shows.

Rich white men lmfao. I love how they act like they're against the government but then buy name brands, the newest vehicle, the newest phone. Then say I'm broke. Who's really losing here? Dumb as hell.

Disabled vet here. TLDR I have back issues and can't walk unassisted. One of my best friends, who I met in medical, has no legs. When I vent to him that sometimes I feel trapped in my broken body and not being able to do normal things you know what he does? Talk me through it, talk about alternatives, and support me. I do the same for him. Never for a moment did we wonder who has it worse. We just see a friend hurting, and we handle that.

what’s so crazy is she brings up that she has to dress nice in hospitals for urgent care but doesn’t even have an example of dressing bad and being treated poorly. meanwhile i read a memoir involving racism and a guy’s father had an actual medical emergency he went to the er in his pajamas cus he was rushed there at night for a heart attack (i think) and when he got there nobody did any tests they just sent him home cus he looked like a messy black man seeking drugs and he died from his heart. which is an example of real oppression. i’ve never heard of that happening to a fat person but i’ve heard it happen to black ppl.

It’s useful to remember what happened to narcissus himself. He fell in love with his own reflection in a stream, bent over to get a better look and fell in and drowned. Another version says that he couldn’t pull himself away and starved. “I’m hot and I’m fat”. And like narcissus soon dead.

The guts to shame skinny people for even being part of a conversation or exist in a community when these fat acceptance influencers whole shtick is "taking up space" and "we're so supressed"

@SirThinks2Much 4 months ago

11:25 on the subject of being obese and malnourished - non-western countries that used to have high rates of malnutrition due to starvation are still malnourished, thanks to companies like coca cola and nestle flooding local economies with UPF products. Those are the "deep-rooted white supremacy standards" FAs should be against if they really cared about health!

Can we talk about how they always use Venus of villendorf as a symbol for fat acceptance too but like she isnt fat she is clearly pregnant. Primitive people werent 300lbs.

@creamsodasteph 4 months ago

These people not understanding what system discrimination is, is both hilarious and very concerning.

i once applied for a warehouse job and when i came to the interview they straight up said they weren't gonna hire me cause i look too scrawny. i'm stronger than i look, my muscles aren't very visible, but like... i understand their position 😂 it's a heavy lifting job, they want someone strong for it. does that mean i was systemically oppressed for being skinny? obviously not. 💀 but by their logic i am, soo... im winning their oppression olympics here 💅

@mariah8414 4 months ago

I find it ironic when people in HAES say things like “you’re just reinforcing the idea that you don’t wanna look like me“ because realistically they don’t wanna look like they’re skinny friends either. If they did, they would participate in the lifestyle to look like the skinnier friend. So while they’re offended that people don’t wanna be fat like them, in the same breath, it’s realistic to say it’s fucked up that they don’t wanna be skinny like me.

@lobotomyenthusiast 4 months ago

13:02 This should be a case study in identifying fake discrimination stories. It's written like a Dhar Mann video. There's way too much exposition, so that people like her whose brains have been melted by Hollywood can follow along with the plot. In real life, the bad guy doesn't declare his evil plans for the entire world to hear.

While I was badly bullied as a KID for being fat, not one single time in adulthood did I experience such a thing. Then, I started hanging out with Ana and discovered how comfortable people are saying whatever they think to thin people about their weight. I’m in recovery but still small and it’s SHOCKING how people act.

@nessa007productions 4 months ago

It is wild how these people make their weight their entire personality.

When I was 300lbs, my aunt used to say i looked great and i shouldn't lose weight. She would show me and my mum (who was also over 300lbs) her feed and it would be full of HAES, then say they look amazing. I am now 150lbs and she said i look like i am dying and that she can no longer speak to me😂 I also heard she is on ozempic and in the gym 5 days a week trying to lose weight, while saying this.
