It was such a short timeframe from Paige entering and being trapped in that deli. To him emerging to remove Paige's body from the premises. It was so frenzied that she wouldn't have had much opportunity to defend herself. From the number of injuries she sustained. It implies anger. That she likely rebuffed his advances.

I do struggle to comprehend how this could be his first and only offence. The brutality of what he did and the casual way he was in the immediate aftermath of Paige's murder implies that he wasn't fazed at all by what he had just done.

I come from the Clydebank area and remember this so well.
This family were devastated and I hope this murderer I will not write his name never sleeps at night and grows old in Prison.

Thank you great channel

Yea,  he had seen Paige before and became obsessed  with her. On that day he thought all his fantasies were about to come true. So in his mind, he seized  what he thought was the perfect opportunity.

So his confession:

First & third paragraphs are what he said, second paragraph is what he omitted from what really happened.

1/
Paige had spoken to him about a part-time job when she was in the deli that morning, and so he invited her into the back office to take her details, to contact her about an interview at a later date. But when they were in the office, he established that Paige was only 15 years old, and for that reason he was unable to employ her.

2/ (omitted)
He then touched her inappropriately and suggested that perhaps they could "work something out" or "find a way out of the problem.”

3/
Upon hearing this, Paige became irate, and she threatened to tell her family and friends and those in the community that Letham had inappropriately touched her......She became so irate and began to scream then Letham said he had no possible option other than to attack her.

A reduction to 23 years because he didn't hide her body well enough??!!! Oh how charitable of him! Disgusting decision. RIP Paige.

It should make no difference. For him to say not guilty when it hadn't yet gone to trial. To change it immediately beforehand shows that he's playing the system. For that, they should add time onto his minimum term, in my opinion.

Rip Paige 🎉❤🎉❤

He should've had no reduction to his sentence. Especially when you know he only pleaded guilty to it to get a reduced sentence. She had severe injuries to one side of her neck. That means he carried on attacking her when she was completely incapacitated by her injuries. If you can do that to a young girl and act so nonchalantly afterwards. You shouldn't ever be let out. Because the way you're behaving shows you don't see a problem with what you've just done.

Awful this. Poor wee girl. Seen her lovely mum interviewed and it's heartbreaking. RIP Paige.

I don’t understand how the salon she worked in didn’t think to call her mum or whatever when she didn’t show up? They had a duty of care too

I remember when this happened. So tragic. RIP Paige x

Thanks for putting on single crimes

He would've known she was underage. If she went in there regularly on her way to school with her friends. He may have deliberately targeted her. Knowing that she would be by herself when she entered that day. It was early saturday morning and so they wouldn't have been that many people about.

He killed a child, a father of two, then acted like everything was normal. Monsters walk among us.

She was never getting out of that shop alive that morning.  Imo he was obsessed with her & when she refused or said she would tell, he went berserk.  She didnt stand a chance, poor kid.  He showed how callous he could be when he had the cheek to ask her step-granda how are you holding up big lad.  RIP Paige 💔♥️

Just to clarify for those who don't understand British sentencing - the 23 years is simply the minimum before he can even be considered for release. The Parole Board will then assess the risk. In this case it was an unprovoked and frenzied attack on a defenceless young girl with no remorse shown - I think it's vanishingly unlikely he'll be awarded a release for many decades.

He didn't want to incriminate himself, you mean. Thats why he didnt want to talk to you about Paige. If it wasn't for the outside CCTV, people would've believed his bullshit about her entering and leaving. In fact, because he deleted the CCTV she was on. Who's to say she even went in. The shopkeepers in and around his business helped to nail him as a liar. And show that he was the only one that could've done it.

First/one-time offenders are almost never that aggressive. I don’t believe for a single second that Paige was his only victim

Oh well we will just knock off a few years off the sentence because he was so considerate and polite by leaving her body somewhere where it would be found easier….what the actual fk??  That is the most warped twisted shit I have heard in a long time! How’s about let’s half the remaining 23 years because he was such a kind chap and didn’t dismember her then? Take off a couple more because he maybe didn’t steal her phone or valuables off her as well? He still murdered that poor child and she must have been terrified and in torture having all those injuries and trying to fight for her life and being so small in stature as well. 😢
