It's crazy that most workplaces are like this. I can sense negative energy and bad vibes from certain people even before they behave rudely or toxic around me.

I hated my job for 10 years

oh boy- if you have an interview and someone says “ don’t get too excited to work here  “ especially from HR, I would run from that company as fast as possible. That means it’s a bad environment and they even know it 😢

The fact that she said, “You’re not the first person to tell me that” shows that she knew what she was doing. What a nightmare coworker!

No job should suck your soul, we need to hold ourselves accountable for treating ourselves with respect.

Work is easier when you keep to yourself and ignore your coworkers

Red Flag
1. Awkward feelings.
2. Your response determined that they got you.. easy catch to use. The Awkward feelings from the interview was your warning. Don't ever dismiss that "Gut feeling"

100%! I have never experienced a good positive work environment in corporate America and it’s usually petty jealous women who can’t mind their own business men could be this way too but for the most part when you’re a pretty girl other women feel threatened by you for whatever reason and they treat you like crap, hey broken people get the help you need and mind your own business.

It is insane how toxic people are the ones companies keep and they run off good people who call the toxic ones out. Glad you got out of there. Dealing with the same thing at my job. Tomorrow is my last day thank goodness.

Omgg i am currently going through this right now. My boss is a jerk, he micromanages everything, keep records of all the stuff I did wrong and building a case against me. I noticed all the red flags and started taking notes.  I had complained about him and waiting for a hearing. Right now am so depressed and full of anxiety

I just quit a job that I loved because the owner was awful. I loved the patients and my team but a fish rots from the head first and that’s what was happening. She was a total control freak, perfectionist with zero empathy or tact. She was condescending, rude, dismissive and purely money driven to the point of extreme cheapness - I’m uncertain of the future but I’m extremely glad to be out of there

I had a very similiar story to yours. My ex boss was extremely manipulative, toxic and micro-managed me the whole time I was there. She was known to mentally torture people. I think we, younger women, who thrive for a better life and shine through the work that we do, threaten these older women or women somehow. It's so sad, I agree with what you said ''Some people just dont want to see you succeed'' and I felt that. You're not alone!

I know from personal experience how absolutely traumatizing it is to work in an abusive work environment!😭😭😭 It can even drive some people to suicide. Thank you for sharing your story, you are so brave and strong!❤️‍🩹

You have no idea how much your story resonates with me. I went through the EXACT same experience. You were perfectly competent. You got gaslit and abused at that job. So much power to you for quitting!

Some people thrive on giving other people hell. So sad good people get bullied and harassed.

So many ppl feel alone , alienated, ostracized and suffer in silence. it’s a good thing you put this message out here for others to know it’s okay to be human, feel what you feel, you’re not alone and love yourself enough to go where you add value (when possible). Wishing you much success along your path ❤

Good quit it’s not worth the stress, health issues, unnecessary drama if there is no peace but poison 😮keep it moving, I did but I was fired I couldn’t quit cause I needed the money and couldn’t find other work at the time

You're right, how someone treats you has to do with them. If you just want to work and mind your own business you should be allowed to do just that.

Dont feel guilty about doing what you had to do to survive.

I am truly happy for you. A toxic place can really mess with your mental. My son is working in Colorado out in Vail, and he said after 2 months, he knew with the management there, that he was not going to work there under that kind of treatment from the "managers" who disrespect employees. As you stated, some of these jobs do nothing about it , because work places do NOT CARE. That kind of behavior is accepted. My son already had another job when he started VAIL and from hearing all the horrible stories about that place. I told him to always keep your resume active and stay looking just in case things don't work out.  I too have run into very unprofessional places. It's a no wonder why the American People are not willing to accept anything , and rather work from home. These work traps are truly exhausting, regardless of your education. You have a new follower. I truly love this, thank you for putting this out here. You are very intelligent with a great attitude. You will make it.
