The line about Pewdiepie caught me so off guard. One because it was so late to the party, and two because of how off target it was despite them having over 7 years to actually look into that controversy instead of going off what Hasan Piker probably said in a stream once

Every character on the show pronounces “fuck” like it’s the first time they’ve cursed. It distracts me every time

The entire Boys franchise is becoming what it sets out to parody, and this show is proof, it's like what if we took the best part of the boys being the characters and their interactions, and just replace them with every stereotypical depiction of a college student on campus

The fact they've got FOUR new spin-offs in the works alongside Gen V is just so fucking hilarious for a show that wants to take the piss out of both the MCU and DC for doing what THEY are doing now.

It's corporate-punk to the finest degree.

Luke's fire power was too expensive to keep around lol

Luke was definitely wasted potential killed off way too soon.

Its crazy how much The Boys fell off. Its also gross how much of Kripkes fetish for men getting assulted got in the show. He doesnt take men getting sexually assulted seriously and thinks its funny. What a disgusting show

I will never understand how Kate seems to think of Soldier boy with his actual personality

When realistically next to no one besides Butcher, Homelander, Hughie, MM, and Starlight would have known

“I’m kinda like Taylor Swift without the cannibal stuff”

The writer is definitely a redditor

Imagine having (soon) 5 seasons of a show, a 2 season spinoff & a spinoff anthology and still only two seasons in total are remotely good

I think one of the biggest reasons why I don’t like this show is because of the characters they are all very unlikable.

The Boys is really starting to irritate me. I used to love it — it felt like a breath of fresh air. Sure, the acting was shaky at times and the fight scenes weren’t great, but it’s a streaming show, so some cheap mechanics were expected. Even then, it was still fun. Now it’s just annoying. I can’t keep up with who’s supposedly going to “kill” Homelander anymore. They keep setting up multiple characters as powerful enough to take him down, then either waste the potential or completely worship their power set instead of using it. The timeline’s a mess and contradicts everything.

Out of all the spin-offs, Vought Rising is easily the worst idea. I know it isn’t out yet, but I genuinely don’t understand why it’s being made at all. I get that Soldier Boy is a fan favorite — he’s one of mine too — but his story was already told perfectly within the main series. Vought Rising just feels completely unnecessary.

Well guess that answers my question on that other video!
"Ruined potential" really does describe what The Boys franchise has devolved into. RIP Tek-Knight's character, he was actually one of the few people you could call a hero in the comic despite not having a drop of V in him.
Also someone on the writing team REALLY needs to learn that people need blood, you can't just, for the sake of having an example, close the wound on someone's neck after they've died (as in no pulse at all) and expect them to just bounce back in seconds.
7:05 Ah, I can actually answer why that is! You see, then one of the female characters would be naked without wanting to be, so the writers made sure his fire was only room temperature. It's fine when a guy gets naked like this, ala Hughie's nude teleporting or this guy going clothes off when he flames on, but a girl? That's just sexist. I wish there were a better way to convey sarcasm over text btw.

[funny bit]
There is no way in hell that the company would risk any "would be" supers messing around on social media. The main show out right states that even the lowest ranked supers are watched to insure they don't taint the brand as a whole.

This whole show should have been revealed at the end to have taking place in one of the fake company controlled locations like what Ryan(homelander's son) was raised in. The risk is way too high that (at the very least) one of those brain dead collage kids would royally mess up in public.

Notice something in these recaps? I'm not as concerned with nitpicks like continuity or power logistics, and just bored by what a plain/regular teen superhero show Gen V was.

For a spinoff of The Boys, I expected way more SATIRE. Why isn't this show blasting college institutions, sociopolitics, and especially young people? That's the potential of this concept that's completely wasted. This is just CW stuff with shock value.

Teknights character was wasted potential, his introduction scene I like the idea of a villain batman focusing on the detective aspect is a great concept, but the who “has sex with everything” that was in the comic really killed the menace of his character, he should have been the overarching villain of the series with him working with vought and having a villain Sherlock arc where he try’s to find out who’s behind the actions of our characters, it’s like the series try’s to move out of the comics while also trying to tie it in and it doesn’t always work, they kinda killed a potential great villain.

I don't think we are supposed to think that Cate cared about the people held in the Woods besides Sam and how it affected Golden Boy.

This entire show is like if Vivziepop made Teen Titans Go

2:20 can’t tell if this is a joke about how people were saying he’s a nazi or they actually think he is one
